Hi all again

Hi all again

Hi all, I’ve been on here under a different name but forgot what it was (yep! I’m getting on in years. I had an Olympia red SR 4x4 auto which served me well for 27000 km towing our 2500 kg van. As we’re not travelling on the dirt or rough stuff, I decided to future proof my car ownership by swapping it for a petrol 2wd Workmate dual cab. So far not so good. It’s perfectly okay for what we need, and I don’t miss any of the SR features (still has auto lights, daylight running lights, a/c, power windows all round etc) but it’s had an annoying engine rattle from new which, after six weeks investigation by the dealer and Toyota, I’m told is “a characteristic of the engine”. Hmmm, I’ve been messing about with cars for 60 years and have never heard anything like it. Anyone out there with the 2tr fe 2.7 with similar issues? I’d really like to fix it rather than get my old car back.
