Hi All,
I joined up a while ago now but have been a bit shy with posting my intro :D

I have had my lux (2008 SR Dual Cab D4D) now for not far off a year, and have found this forum to be an incredible resource for troubleshooting the many problems ive found since getting the keys. My only wish is i found this forum before i bought!

Yeah not a great run, started off needing new lower control arms (the ball joints were stuffed) & new shocks, then after noticing a bit of white smoke after starting with its nose parked downhill I knew (thanks to newhilux) there was a fair chance the injectors (or at least the injector seals) were gone. So I bit the bullet and had them replaced, and had them clean out the whole eve & inlet manifold while everything was apart. And since then I just keep finding problems. Had a strange lurch coming to a stop which I worked out was 'the tailshaft clunk', rear suspension bushes, problems with noisy brakes that no mechanic seems able to fix, cv joints I suspect on their way out, a hidden boost leak at full boost....and many more
As they say, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is ;)

I don't think it's been flogged, just had the minimum maintenance done. The previous owner had it serviced by his local mechanic who probably wasn't that crash hot with diesels. The oil pickup screen was clean as a whistle so that was a relief
