Hola from Argentina!

Hola from Argentina!

Postby JACKEL on Mon, 06 Jun 2011 11:44 +0000

Well I just stumbled on this site googling info about the Toyotas in general and the Hilux in particular, I do live in Argentina where the Hilux is produced, an as a Husband and Father of two, I am willing to buy and eventually build a Hilux in order to camp and travel to those remote and wonderfull places not usually at reach with a standard car.
So I am here to listen and learn, and from the welcome letter I see this is a no BS and family orientesd site, and thats good to know.

Thank you.

Best regards.

Ernesto.

Welcome to the site from a Hilux owner in the USA. I just got mine and it came up from Central America. Would like to know the difference in Argentine build Hilux's if any. Tell us about what configurations are available there.

Hi there MikeO, I believe there are not many differences, configurations, available are, single and double cab ( 2 and 4 doors ), 4x2 and 4x4 traction, and two diesel engine options, 2.0 litres at about 100 hp, and one awesome 3.0 litres with something like 160 hp, linked to 5 speed manual or 4 speed aut gear boxes, also equipment varies regarding alloy or steel wheels ( 16 inch on both cases ), and some models have LSD on the rear, ABS, and not much more.
Of course you have your choices regarding upholstery and some interior amenities, like power windows, door locks, mirrors etc., but thats about it.

Quality and robustness are unequaled by the competition here ( Ford Ranger, Chevy S10, VW Amarok ) so far.
Thats why I am planning on getting one, most probably a 4 door, 4x4 3.0 liter engine version.

Saludos.

Welcome aboard Emesto.

We try to keep the BS to a minimum and yes it is a very friendly site compared to others.

Anyway mate, search away and any queries just ask on the threads, where here to help.
