Hello from Victoria

Postby blighters26 on Thu, 02 Jun 2011 10:59 +0000

I have been a member for a little bit now and thought I might introduce myself. My name is Rob and am based out of Rosebud Vic. I bought an 09 sr5 hilux last Dec. Bought it as a stock standard truck with the dreams of one day building it up to be a great touring truck/play toy. I have decided in the next couple of months to get rid of the nudge bar and replace it with the xrox bar with a mako winch. I have been visiting different shops around Melbourne to learn more about the 2 inch lift that I want to install. I also have been talking with ultimate suspension about this. The only mods so far are uhf, 31 inch Mickey Thompson MTZ with the Cooper atr's to accommodate the road driving and a snorkel. I have a very supportive wife (who has given me free reign to get what ever we need if we can afford it)3 kids ranging from 4 to 9yrs of age and they all love getting out into the bush to go 4wding. My two sons are getting obsessive about the 4wd. My 4yr old would rather watch the dvd's that you get with the magazines than watch cartoons! They boys are always asking "when are we going out dad?" Its been great that we have a few friends that also enjoy getting out into the bush. We have made it to Mansfield a few times and Walhalla.
I have appreciated this form for all its ideas and information that I can get from it.
Hope to see some of you out in the great outdoors!

Welcome blighters. It's great that your kids enjoy going bush and your wife supports the cause. It would be good to catch up out on the tracks oneday.

Cheers

Welcome mate. Always a good thing when the rest of the family is into it. Can only hope my kids enjoy it as they grow up!

Welcome to the site mate..

My family also love coming bush too.. its a good thing.. I was into motorbike racing for many years, but its a solitary sport.. the 4WDing gives us all a chance to get out together which is great..

Hope to see you out on some of our trips !

Thanks guys! Jakelux as for the space the kids are still young any small. Youngest in a booster seat. Once that's gone there will be more room, that's if the other two don't grow to fast!
