Hey evry 1, juz got a 96 dual cab 4x4 hilux, with the 2.4 petrol, just realy want to drop a fuel injected 5 litre out of a later model commodore... but i live in darwin, and good mechanics with engine conversion skills are very scarce haha, can any 1 steer me in the rite direction plz?

Have you tried Darwin Auto Mobile Care? Danny built a 5.0L for a mate of mine a few years back. He's a no bullsh!t type of bloke and is well connected.

Choc, it was a new engine for a VP Commodore. No transmission work was done. He spent $9000 on the engine then wrote the vehicle off two months later. Ouch!

oooo nasty nasty, well i just want it all stockas except for exaust :lol: but you mean he spent it on the engine not on just the conversion? and i gave danny a call but he said he didnt want to do it, fair enuf

There was no conversion mate...just the engine build....

Yep sorry to confuse. Jap read it right. There was no conversion, just a build. It was a new engine put in a VP Commodore. I left Darwin 4 years ago so am not up to speed with who is doing what these days. Apart from Danny, I have nothing. Sorry :|

ah all good boys, cheers, think il just send marks 4by website an email askin how much for all the gear to put the engine in and what not and just go to work myself... back to the old drawing board :lol:
