2012 sr5 hilux radio cd issue

Have a 2012 sr5 hilux in Brisbane QLD Australia.
CD player won't except a cd at all.
CD symbol is sometimes blank and other times shows CD symbol on touch screen.
Have checked that no cd is jammed in there.
Sometimes can push a cd in manually but the unit doesn't reconize it has a cd in there.
Press the eject button and it ejects the cd perfectly fine no issue.
But won't load cd automatically or reconize one when inserted manually as in pushed into slot by hand.
Any tips to try before I take it to a dealer and spend money on it??
