What's the easiest/best way of removing transport primer?

Howdo all,

Peviously posted this on HPOC but no replies so will try here...

Following an avoidable and stupid prang a couple years ago, I've slowly recovered enough to deal with the repairs.

I bought a new tailgate (Mk 6) from Milner's in UK. Despite being an apparent genuine Toyota part it is not e-coated but coated with transport primer. I can't afford to get the thing sprayed professionally so will be doing it myself. To this end, what's the best way to remove the transport primer?

Thanks awfully :),

Good question - it might be worth asking a panel beater. Let us know how you go.

Thanks. I'll give that an experiment. The transport primer seems to be stubborn stuff.

I'll report back on results.
