Honest Melbourne (northern) mechanic

Postby Rgatfield on Sun, 29 Jan 2017 5:02 +0000

Hi, now that I have my 2002 4x4 dual cab SR5, I'd like to know of any mechanic you lot recommend for this type of vehicle. I'll be keeping up with the maintenance and would like to start a good relationship with a local guy I can trust with the things I can't do myself.

I could google it, but hey, experience is key here.
Thanks mates.

You could even search it on here, but hey, somebody else could do it for you.

-I did search, its all old, dead threads and mostly in the south/east suburbs. I was looking for a reply from someone in Melbourne who has recently had experience with a good mechanic shop.
Thanks though.

Hard to find good techs.
New DENSO Injectors are the go! New genuine parts.

Check your injectors about every 10,000k.
WARNING check oil pickup screen is clear
no chips no tune ups - why increase risk of piston cracking?

It seems the Prado community find me much easier ;)
Hiluxes I only really do Injector replacement, owners seem to be fairly d.i.y with servicing, which I support.
