Xrox bull bar with 2" bodylift

Postby fluffoffal on Mon, 26 Dec 2016 7:36 +0000

Hi.
I have an xrox bar on my 2000 hilux with a 2" body lift.
I used my winch to pull a small tree out of the ground and the whole bull bar flexes forwards when the winch is pulling.
It looks like the extended mounts are acting as a lever and flexing. This in turn is putting epic tension on the mounting bolts and as a result, the bull bar now leans forwards slightly.

My question is, has anyone used their winch in an extreme recovery situation in an xrox bar with a 2" body lift?
As I'm thinking, I would be worried that when the time comes to use the winch properly, it will snap the mount bolts or severely bend the mounts.

Never been a fan of the Xrox, sorry. Here's just another reason to support my beliefs.

Have a bit of a search on here regarding Xrox, and you'll see that I'm not alone in this theory.
Cheers Rod

Yeah mounts are a tad weak from what I've seen, especially on the body lifted version. A couple pf inches more leverage can make a big difference!

Yeah, unfortunately, they are the only company that make bars to suit 2" body lifts so I didn't really have a choice.

The mob that make the axis bar do one to suit a body lift.
