So I've had my 01 ifs hilux for about 2 years now it hasn't failed me ever... Except the front diff. Minced the spider gears and replaced them with a locker. Snapped the left axel inside the center. Finally minced the crown and pinion gears. I've always had the intention of doing a SAS and this is as good a time as any. Intended to use just an older hilux diff but a set of GQ front and rear came up that I just couldn't pass up. Havent gotten too far into the build but just wondering If anyone done anything similar and has any experiences that might help?

Seen in an issue of 4WD Action a bloke done a SAS in a weekend on his 2000 IFS. He used a LN106 front diff to maintain the Hilux wheel track. Have a search around, I'm sure you'll be able to find that.

I'll edit when I finish work if i can find the exact issue to help a bit more.

Edit: this link may help

Edit 2: Tough 4WD Utes Vol 2, a bloke with a '94 solid axle Lux done a rear coil conversio
4WD Action No. 263, this is the issue i mentioned earlier. And to correct myself, his is a 2002.

Not sure where you'd be able to find the copies of these magazines, but it's a good starting point.

Hope this helped,
Cobba.

Standard track width for a a IFS hilux is like 1440mm and a GQ patrol is 1800mm going to be hard to cover the wheels. But it has been done before just looks odd with how much wider the diffs are
