4.3L V8 (3UZ-FE) into 04 lux

Hi all,
Spent a bit of time looking into a V8 conversion and it's looking like a good fit would be the 4.3L 3UZ-FE Toyota quad cam V8.
I had intended to go for the 4L 1UZFE but it wouldn't be legal in an 04 Hilux as they stopped production back in 2000.
The 4.3L was produced right up to 07 so this engine would be fine.

I can go for the 100 series cruiser 4.7L 2UZFE but prefer the 4.3L as its an all alloy engine and from what I've found so far, shares a lot of parts with the 1UZFE.

Conversion kit to bolt up to my existing R151 gearbox is available (with a pretty heavey price tag) so I'm wondering if the 100 series cruiser H151 5 speed gearbox ( normally bolted to the 2UZFE ) would be a better choice ?

My 3.4L V6 is going to need a full rebuild shortly , along with a new clutch and a gearbox re build so, a wise choice would be to invest in the V8 and conversion instead.

I'm still researching gearbox compatability over a conversion kit along with ecu swap over and so on .
If anyone has any tips, suggestions or advice , please post.

Thanks,
Jay

Cheaper way to v8 is LS conversion, with either 6l80e and patrol transfer case,
Either way you'll want to upgrade the rear with Longs or a modded LC diff,
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

Definitely want to stick with a Toyota V8 over anything else. :)
