04 OBD port ?

Postby kamipalms on Wed, 17 Aug 2016 3:20 +0000

Hi all,
Trying to find the under dash OBD port in my 04 hilux.
I've had a good search both here and google and I have no idea where to even begin looking and if it's OBD I , OBD II , M-OBD and so on.
If any one has the location and possibly a picture , it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

As far as I know 04 doesn't have one if it is a diesel. If you have one it connects under the steering column. Google obd2 and you will see the plug image.
I think obd2 is post 05/6
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

Thanks for that.
Its a 3.4L petrol.
There's a vertical stack of ports/sockets fixed just above the brake pedal but all ports are in use.

Reason I'm after this info is I'm in need of a security system upgrade and I'm interested in including a gps tracker.

From what I've seen so far, some alarms and some gps trackers use the OBD port over hard wiring and I'm trying to find the best alarm /gps tracker combo to suit.
