Help pleese 93 hilux wont start sometimes

Hi i have a 1993 hilux 2.4ltr D double cab, when i turn the key to start all it get is 1 click from the glow plug relay. Only way i can start it is to turn the key to power position and the glow plug light will flash for 5-15seconds then try turn key and see if it will crank, this usually takes a few attempts. Runs great once it going. Any help would be

Check your battery posts are tight and clean. Is it just not turning over? You can't try the old bash the starter motor with a hammer trick and see if it cranks
