A BRAND NEW ford catches fire but they wont issue a recall.........guess they wait until people die like they did in the States with the Ford Exploder(Explorer), my Dad had two of these pieces of S%$# before both died from computer issues........when Dad was intent on buying a new Ranger we went through the local dealers workshop and saw two Rangers with their engines removed.........

The jeep Commander and Cherokee had a few problems with fires too. Must be the age of electronics

The new hilux may not be the greatest vehicle on the market but it always starts and runs and does the job it was designed to do. It's that kind of performance and reliability that has kept hilux the best selling ute in the country. And with the new features on the 2016 model it really matches anything on the market in technology as well. Still hard to beat in my book.

I wonder if it will be an isolated incident? I feel a recall coming in a few more months.

Spot on, People raved about the towing capacity in the ranger but would it do it all day, every day.......Toyota's have always erred on the side of caution and been conservatively designed. Let's hope the new engines keep that mantra.

Yep I'm very happy with my Lux after 4 years........did have the clutch replaced (under warranty) but probably a bit of driver error involved in that.......don't believe for a second the figures the others are stating, Kw, Nm and towing,,,,,
real world driving suggests the Lux really has earned it's reputation.
I've only owned 2 Toyota's but both have been absolute ball tearers.... :D :D :D ;) ;) ;) .

A Local dealer here is running a radio add along the lines of
"If you couldn't wait and brought something that you didn't really want, We'll take your Ranger as a trade in"

If your not prepared to stand behind our Troops
Then try standing in front of them
