2004 SR5 top glove box latch - help needed

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help with this - I've all the parts needed to fix the latch, but I can't figure out where the damn spring goes...! All the googling I've done shows only the closed lock and other with the same issue.
Could someone with a 2004 model or similar with the top glove box intact post a pic of the latch, hopefully that way I can figure out where to put the spring ?
Either that or a full diagram and notes ??
(only joking)

I've got this same issue.
What's the trick to remove the lid.
Just spent an hour with my head upside down to no avail
