A quick reply , it is not anywhere as easy as a 1kz or a1kd engine , these 2 only have a timing belt from cam to injector/supply pump. The L series belt is from crank to cam. Obviously it is at 150k or 300k Kim's. The crank pulley needs to be removed and there is a belt idler and tensioner. These need to be inspected that the bearings are not noisey. The cam and crank seals need to be checked for any signs of oil leaks.
When all the marks are lined up to fit the belt the injector pump needs to be held in position as it is spring loaded , very critical that all marks line up and rotate engine over 360 degrees to recheck as 1 tooth out can cause a disaster .
