Too many kms??

Postby jackiemay on Fri, 09 Sep 2011 8:56 +0000

How many kms is too many when buying a hilux?
Is a 2004 sr5 with 220000kms worse than a 1996 sr5 with 152000kms?

Any tips much appreciated!!

Hi Jackie.
There are so many variables between the vehicles. A perfectly serviced 220000k vehicle could be better than a poorly serviced vehicle with 152000ks.
Do you know the owner of either vehicles that can give you an honest appraisal of its condition?
Cheers

Do either have log books? If so go with the one with the most complete history. This is still no guarantee though.

Do most utes need a rebuild after 300,000kms? Is that a common thing to do and how much does it roughly cost?

Thanks for the replys!!!
