3.4 v6 on 33s advice!

Postby LuX54 on Mon, 07 Mar 2016 9:44 +0000

Just after a little advice on guys running 285s/305s/33s with stock ratios on 3.4l? Whats it drive like on standard ratios? I believe my current ratios are 3.55, anyone with 4.1 ratios?

I got the 2.8 3L with factory 5speed manual and 4.3 final
It's no rocket but never was to start with

The 305's with chew the fuel and cost about $20 more per tyre
285's don't look so out of place on a gen 5 or 6 hilux

To run 305's you'll probley need a -44 rim not -22 witch works for 285's
305's on -44 will hang out guards 30mm more on each side over 285's on -22 so you'll need bigger flares

How much lift have you got?
I have gen 5 (1990 sr5) 3"efs and 2" extended shackles and would hit the tyre into cab on up stroke so if off-roading 4" lift is the min you want, if your mall crawling 2" will be fine
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

Get 285/75r16
Won't be a rocket and 90 on the speedo will be 100
If you find its too slow for you
Either look for a set 4.5 from a auto 3.4v6 if your is manual or 4.88 if you have auto
And you should have same power as you do now,
You just need to wheel a bit more careful due to axel load and torque
