I think the 2.8 is like a 3l engine designation isn't it? I am told you can whack a 5l head on which is the 3 litre naturally aspirated head, I am not sure whether it would make any difference, but the later 5l was EFI, so might be worth chasing an earlier head up off one of the old style fuel pump ones, I am sure someone will be able to give you a definitive answer soon mate!
