I think because they are down low and in the case of an impact would be higher into the b pillar and there are no real crumple zones other then in the doors they don't have to worry about them affecting the airbags ie don't have to worry about compliant (My thoughts anyways just spit balling) :?

Been reading some of the posts a couple of pages back about the sliders hitting the pinch weld on the sill. This is possibly because of the step on the bottom of the chassis rail, allowing the mount to twist slightly on the chassis with a big hit.
I don't know how bud builds his, but I built mine with a similar bracket and welded a bit of 3mmx25mm steel inside the bracket to fill the gap. Taken some big hits on the sliders and never had a problem.

andy, yours look a lot heavier construction

any armour is a balance between weight and "toughness". personally I'm happy with Bud's sliders even tho they have put a 1mm notch into my sill after a BIG drop

I don't think they are any heavier. 8mm plate for the brackets and 40mmx4mm rhs.
I'm not criticising buds work, they look like some great sliders and I haven't heard a negative report. I'm just pointing out what I did with mine and it's something that people who have buds sliders may want to do themselves.
Hey, it may not even be a problem and I just over engineer stuff. :D

8mm bolts mate. Not exactly sure on length. . Maybe 40mm for the normal parts and 60-70mm for the 2 under the diff.

I recommend getting rid of the button heads and use some hex head bolts. Why? Because after almost a year, my button head bolts had the head pretty much grinded down to a point that the only way to get them out was to grind a slot and make a tool to remove them with the impact driver.

M8 button socket cap screw
25mm X4
70mm X2 (what I use, I think a bit shorter would be ok)
I change them most oil changes.
Also thick washers are a must at least for the front.
