I currently have a 2007 SR5 with 2 1/2" twin exhaust with no secondary cats into twin straight through mufflers and 12" resonators. Still waiting to put on extractors before buying the raptorsc. Is there a particular brand of long tube header that you recommend? The drone right now is horrible - hoping to tune the exhaust note a bit by adding a crossover and 24" resonators in front of the mufflers about 2/3 of the way back.

Ovadahill

I myself use the Monster Rides long tube headers, seriously they are good and Matt provides the good service.

Drone, the first answer to droning is to always get a decent muffler in up the front just after the Y piece, you need to reduce noise right there then add another decent muffler back behind that a bit, after that you can nearly remain straight through.

With V6 engines or small capacity H6 engines, you need get some muffling happening nearest the front as reasonably possible.

If the exhaust system further frustrates you or what I have written doesn't seem right, then purchase an entire Monster Rides V6 Hilux exhaust system, it is drone free entirely, fantastic system. Good note too.

I'm hoping to run into you one day around Cairns-- just to hear your exhaust with the raptorsc. I'll pop into Matty's Mechanics to make an order.

Mainly in Cairns Sat morning, otherwise plaguing G'vale with V6 sounds

Yours is 2WD Ovdahill?

There is another V6 4WD locally here who I sold a kit to a few years ago that floats around, I personally haven't seen it since I have moved here but locals say there is one still here.

Have you guys been able to make a system capable with a snorkel yet? And do you have any installers you recommend in the CQ region?

I note the configuration has been rotated with the BOV facing forward and the intake tubing going behind the brake fluid reservoir. Can the water hoses be hidden around the back or both exit on the right side?

Ova

The pictures are of my current experimental 9psi system and yes the cooler is rotated. The normal system with cooler the other way around is the way they are still being sold.

You - being in Cairns can have yours either way as I can do something custom for you, however there must be liquid cooling lines. Of course you can cover them with stainless braid or other options to beautify them. I have some knowledge of what you are up and and what you need, the hose thing is a challenge.

Why don't we catch up sometime

Have retailed quite a few systems lately - still recommending the Monster Rides exhaust system as the correct system to use with the supercharger kit

Raptor Superchargers

The MonstaRides Rides exhaust system is awesome. The exhaust note burbles without drone and seat of the pants power increase seems obvious. ImageImage

A BIG STORY

From Nov 2016 ALL Raptor Supercharger kits for Hilux will be Snorkel COMPATIBLE :)

The system is also revised (new intercooler and system layout) - easier to fit, even more maintenance friendly than before.

ALL V6 from 2005 - 2014

We also have product for the new Generation 8 V6 Hilux

If you can't get one anymore, talk to Beaudesert Exhausts as they have a similar product. Rear O2 sensors need a little extra chamber/muffler in front of them or they throw codes. Mine used to do it even with an XEDE processor on it, extra little muffler thingys fixed it.
