Hey Guys,

I have been looking at this upgrade for a while now, I remember on a thread somehwere someone was offering a dual diaphragm booster for around $320, just wondering what the difference is between the cheaper one everyone was saying to get and this monster rides one. Is it a more bolt in friendly application than the cheaper one?

Don't think you'll find anything on the cheaper brake booster, the admin staff have removed the threads that talked about it.

There were a number of activities within the threads that breeched the forum guidelines. Hence they are currently removed.

We can still build the boosters, but they are more than double the price of the other ones being offered.

I can't comment on the other ones, as I've not seen one or driven with one fitted.

I installed this booster 3 Years ago but the brake pedal still doesn't feel that great. I fitted braided brake lines and adjusted the rear drums as well as fitting dba slotted rotors and quality brake pads. I also upgraded the brake fluid. I have manually bled the brakes various times including the nipple on the brake proportioning set up.

My hilux is a 08 SR and has 265/75 tyres and lifted suspension and is kitted out for touring with steel canopy rooftop tent steel bar work drawers fridge ect so is heavy.

It will eventually chirp a front wheel if I stand on the pedal hard. On down hill sections or when I'm holding on a steep off road section it feels like the brakes will not stop the vehicle.

The pedal is rock hard when the engine is off but when I start it with my foot still on the pedal it will sink all the way to the floor. If I brake and take my foot off and brake again the pedal will go hard and brake performance drops right off. If I stab the pedal coming up to a near stop.it will feel squishy and go at least half way with very poor brake feel. When the engine revs drop you only get one go pretty much, a second go results in the pedal feeling hard.

It feels like maybe the vacum pump cannot keep up?

Anyone else had such dramas?

I have the excact same problem and tried to get air out everywhere..
Got the DBA rotors and pads.. thats when it started. No calipers or brakelinea where disconnected. Now Im confident that it has to do with the vacume and ordering a new BRAKEBOOSTER CHECKVALVE.
Do you guys at MonsterRide still provide this upgrade for the hilux mk6?

I have a 2,5 d4d in Norway and looking in for this upgrade.
2kdftv is pretty much the same as the 1kdftv (different egr valve— downpipe- and boresize and pistons)
I have been dealing with you guys before and support your work 100%
