fitting up a sports bar next

Image
Image

next up was driving lights and a ECB nudge bar cant stand not having a good set of lights at night hayman and reese towbar was fitted aswell but everyone knows what they look like.

Image

the next job on the cards was to get it lowered
2 inches in the front on pedders sports ryder coils
and 3 inches in the back ( taking the 2nd stage out and replacing it with a sedan pack )
then adding load carrying airbags for when I chuck my bike and tools etc in the back.
bags arnt in yet as they have to be custom made should be in by next week. :D

Image
Image

a shot of the the other ute we have
Image

last thing for now till the bank account goes up :( wheels
19 x 8.5 lenso wheels
255/40-19 KUHMO
Image
Image
Image

i have sitting in the shed a ARB compressor to be fitted and a all air control unit for the bags when they go in

you guys when you lift the hilux have to adjust the brake proportioning arm on the back axle i would be under the same circumstances with lowering my lux yeah??

Nice rig.

Yes when lowered, it will be simulating load in the rear and should adjust more brake bias to the rear, not necessarily good if your unloaded. I would check the adjustment position at standard height, then return the adjustment nuts to that position after you've lowered it.

thanks jap will look into it

thanks for the comments

heaps of plans for it once the funds go back up

first looking at a set of angel eyes and pillar pod etc from matty

just not sure about how the adjustment in the lights would work on a SR.

major plans to make it into some sort of circuit car,
adjustable sway bars
racing shocks
etc
and then strap some more power onto it when i get off my greens

thinking raptor charger and custom dual 2.5 inch exahust

after a few weeks getting the airbags right they are finally in and work to what i wanted

image bellow of how much room there was for the airbag
Image

the airbag it self

Image

i dont have any pictures of the bag itself in as i cant really fit underneath it anymore
the bags give me about 2 inches of lift when i pump them up and each bag is rated at 500kg
i think if i get something heavy and trial how much the suspension travels i might lower the back another inch with blocks

second thing to do is to fit a kicker/kenwood stereo
Image
RS series splits which ill mount on the a-pillar
12 in 2ohm CVT sub
kicker 350.4 4 channel
kicker 400.1 mono
going to dynamat absolutly everything back wall, floor and double layer the door.

ill ask all the stereo people on here
i can bi amp the splits to the cross over using all the channels of the amp
utilising the fader on the head unit as i can then change the levels to the tweeters mids easily
is this worth it????

eventually im going to build a custom box and port it for the sub to use up all the space behind the back seat
but the little box will do for the time being......

next is the fit an ARB compressor that feeds to a tank which will supply a dual control airbag swtich and outlets on either side of the car and one inside to keep it always clean...

last pic is a night after work all polished and clean.

got most of the stereo work in today ,
run 4 gauge to the mono amp and 8 gauge to the 4 channel for the splits.
kenwood double din head unit fits well and has unreal options for sound control
dynamated the outside skin of the door and the inner skin then also the back wall and the floor under the seats.. but run out going to mat the whole floor eventually and lay new carpet down...
i was going to build a custom fiberglass box to utilies all the space behind the seat but as i never done work like that i decided to leave it experts.....
next job is to remove a few leaves from the back suspension and i think put some tramp bars in and a heavy duty rear sway bar from mako engineering and some shorter sports shocks as they now bottom out when i put a load in the back...
and thinking about buying a tru trac for the diff put am unable to find a place to get a price for one...
what spline are a hilux alxe????
how hard is a tru trac to fit??

some more updates, had a bit of a prang so decided to do a 2010 front end conversion, colour code the mirrors, take off the nudge bar and spotties which are forsale, depo lights and newtech HIDs.

placement of ballast

Image
depo wiring

front end apart

all together

i also fitted the ARB compressor while i had the guard off which made mounting it a breeze,
taken out all the stereo equipment, as it was time for a change,
from this kenwood ddx5032 is for sale, double din headunit with bluetooth.
and custom fiberglass box for a single cab to suit a 12 inch slim line sub,

i have removed 2 leaves from the suspension to soften it up and it goes for a wheel allignment on friday.
next job
custom tray
paint wheels white
chrome door handles
and fog lights for now

Looks 100% better with the nudge bar off. And that grill looks so good with the bottom half colour coded. Good Work Dude

i think round head board around 75mm tube, that extends down the meet the bottom of the cab,
75x30 rhs for side rails to make it look lower,
back corners in tube,
backing plate for lights number plate etc,
drop boxes infront of the wheels
a box mounted underneath the center of the tray in front of the diff,
relocate fuel tank to where spare wheel is
put 2 spare wheels on the tray against the head board,
LED lights,
powder coated white to match,
going to do it all myself once dad gets a welder back from where he works

Im looking to do some similar stuff with mine just bought a 2011 sr 4x2 extra cab.

Do you need a tub liner to fit a sports bar? Im currently looking for some more aggressive looking rims as these stock steel ones look horrible.

this page still active??

Had it made at a local pedders hornunga. It was sitting in the shed on the floor till a couple weeks ago and I threw it all out.
