200k off road, that is dedication!

Sounds pretty sweet. So the canopy will stay off for good now?
Cheers,
Jay

Knocked up the new RTT setup and did some real world testing in the high country :D
nice to have the heavy canopy off and a more simple light weight setup.. good for the smaller trips when its just me in the rig :D

Image

Just a cut down roll bar at the rear, couple lengths of 50x25x3mm to the headboard and RTT bolted on.
light poly boxes hold all tools, cooking equip, food and beer... then the middle is free for a shit load of firewood!
RTT sits about 100mm lower than lux roof so i can see out the back window and a little less wind drag... would like to drop it another 100mm but than the boxes won't open far.. :?

We only bailed on it because we sent a Patrol up first and he waisted the rest of the daylight we had...

Yeah ute feels better now, pissed the canopy off so 300-400kg lighter... don't reckon i'll put it back on.

Ahahaha, this is true.

Ha, your rig was making me want a canopy. 400k would be bloody noticable too.

We get keys hopefully next week! So there'll be a few weeks of organising all the after hand-over stuff (laying floors, driveway, etc etc etc  ), but i'll be able to get out a lot more as soon as I've gotten some of that out the way. I'll shoot you a message the first chance I get.
Cheers,
Jay

Joes spur gets pretty full on another 50m past where old mate held us up! A locked hilux would still have to winch a few times. Forget it if its wet!.I went up with Justin in his GQ and i was shitting myself. :o

Sold the Lux!

Nothing wrong with it but was time to move on.
Those that don't rate the 1GRFE are trippin.... this thing was bulletproof and i probably put mine through more than most have.

Got myself a cheap petrol 105 landcruiser... gonna keep it pretty simple and set up as family tourer :D
