How much time went into changing the breaks?? I'm starting to think about doing the same to mine as stopping is not one of my lux,s strong points :(

I did some of the work on my diff myself so that saved a bit of time and money. Also my diff guy felt sorry for me so he gave me a really good price on changing it over.

I was going to do the brakes myself but while it was in at my mates shop with the diff getting fixed i gave them to him and he swapped them over so i dont really know to be honest. He said it wasnt hard but when he pulled the old backing plates off he said the front seals were gone so he played around getting new ones which was the most time consuming part apparently. Ive got a pic of the new rotors on the car. Ill put it up now

Looks awesome mate, are those lights plug and play or is there extra wiring for the halo's??

Good choice on tyre btw mine have now done 26k and still have well over half tread block left, they do get a bit noisier but no where near other brands 8-)

Josh i think you need to get a different canopy, something some 'slim line' would suit heaps better i think...

I think the canopy is fine. Functionality over style!

Na Ron the halos just plug straight into the parker light curcuit but thats the easy part. The rest of the light is a bit of a prick.
Because your normal lights have a low and high beam filament inside the one globe theres never a need (or a time for that matter) for both filaments to be on at the same time. So when you change between high and low beam it just changes to the respective filament.

With these lights because each light is seperated (low and high beam) you want the low beam to stay on when the high is selected so theres a bit of fiddling round with the wiring of them but in the end I worked it out and its definately do-able.

The canopy suits me just perfectly at the moment Jack but i have thought about a tray like yours maybe sometime in the future. Maybe when im rolling in some grand master/extendy/very expensive caravan

But by that stage I probably cant tow it :o ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind words.................. it inspires me to spend more of my money

just out of curiosity if you dont mind me asking how much did the full upgrade with the prado brakes and braided lines cost you?
im seriously considering getting rid of the drum brakes over a suspension lift, ive have 4 near crashes on highways because my brakes wouldnt pull me up fast enough in the past 2 weeks.

cheers julz

The upgrade doesnt give you anything different in the rear. Just the front. You will need 17 inch rims to make it easy to clear the callipers. All up you say? Without the labour putting in the brakes......... oh about $5400 :o

Honestly yes thats how much but I had to buy new rims and tyres to suit the callipers and I did buy 8 x 17 inch black steelies and 8 x BF Goodrich KM2's to match so without that cost the brakes were about $900 all up. But I bought slotted rottors and EBC Greenstuff pads which you can obviously get cheaper versions of.

5 for the truck and 3 for the camper trailer. 2 full size and brand new spares for when I go bush. Having everything the same size makes it easier and now i have a full set to rotate tyres through so they will last a loooooooong time :D

5400! thats a fair whack to the back pocket.
ohhk i thought it replaced rear drums for discs. i didnt know that. $900 seems like a decent price to pay for something that is an essential part of our ute

cheers
