Just thought ide post up that my ute is in the latest edition of 4wd action dvd again.

I was a last minute call up as they needed a toyota desperately hense the reason the shoot was done in my mates workshop while it was getting serviced and having the egr system cleaned.

I really dont like the shoot

They didnt take anymore photos (in fact the pics they used were from my first photo shoot and didnt include my led bar or any of my new interior setup) and while i was talking they showed (old) photos that didnt match up for what I was talking about.

Quite disappointed. Oh well I have a new shoot coming out in the next months issue (181) for the "buying a used Hilux" acticle. Hopefully its better than the dvd.

Nice work Josh. "buying a used Hilux" What does the article say? If the Hilux has big tyres, lockers and custom bash plates and features on a 4wd forum somewhere, then stay away from it, as people put that stuff on there for only 1 reason

Wouldnt have a clue mate. Dont really think its for my truck per say but they just needed a hilux to do the shoot with. Was a boring day haha.

I did make to sure they mentioned the crappy brakes and the injectors as two of the main problems but will just have to wait and see.

Bit of an update as I havent written much in here lately (I think I can even see spiders in the corners of my thread  )

So whats been happening lately?? Well............

I had an alarm fitted as theres been alot of smash and grabs lately with our trucks, especially with the thiefing of the head units. So I had an external speaker (the same one that comes standard with the alarm under the bonnet) mounted just under the dash and now you literally cannot sit inside the car with the alarm going off as it physically hurts your ears

What else..... well im not going to bag them but the 4terrain clutch I had fitted about a year ago started slipping the other day :o  im sorry but at no stage should a heavy duty clutch with about 20'000ks on it at the most with mostly daily driving be slipping. Let alone be worn out.

So today I picked up an Exedy Sports Tuff heavy duty upgrade clutch kit with a bigger 275mm (bigger by 15mm and the same size as the prados) single mass flywheel and clutch to suit. Havent fitted it yet but others with the standard size of these clutches love them. Just cant bring myself to buy another 4terrain unfortunately. It will be interesting to see how the bigger size effects the drivability (I really dont think it will though) If your keen to have a look at these clutches the one i got is this TYK-8006SMFHD and the same clutch in the standard Hilux size is TYK-7678HD.

Nice work Josh, you're right, clutches shouldn't be slipping after 20,000km. Good luck with the next one. God help anybody who gets into your lux without permission :D

No body lift but im running just over 2 inches and it does scrub little. Im in the process of grinding my guards a little and ill be finishing it off tomorrow.

It all depends how wide you run your 33's with how much they scrub
