  the plan was to squeeze past the two rocks and then pull one out of the way. It ended up spitting out rocks under the back tyres which pushed me into the big rock and then the front tyre came off the rock in front. Was going well until then. Had to drive back and forth little bits at a time to pack rocks under the tyres in order to get out.

Cheers,

Chris.

I cringed when I saw this, I hate that sound and feeling when you drag along something. Did you do any damage?

Have you looked at a flat rack for the roof? Like a wind cheetah or a Baja rack.lots more useable space. And if you don't have the RTT on you should still be able to get into car parks and drive throughs.

Well I've been a little busy in my spare time on the Lux. Winch has been rebuilt. Turned out to be another solenoid failure, the Solenoid its self was fine but the small trigger wires inside had broken off. I pulled the motor and gear bag down as well. The 2 speed box is a bit of a head f$@#&% to get back together but got there in the end. The motor end was fine and hasn't had any water in it since last time I Pulled it apart. I pulled the rope off and put it in the washing machine too. The drum was really rusted so I gave it some fresh paint as well, went for fire engine red for something a little different.

More recently I got a set of these in 285/75/16.

And made them fit. Thanks to Rocket for the tips.

Might have to make wider mud guards now.

Cheers,

Chris.

Have you got a profile shot Chris? shes looking a little tight in the front between the tyre and guard from that angle.

Na I don't Kyle. They do get close to the outside edge of the flare but I don't think they they will touch. I wasn't going to do the body mount but when I was playing around on some rocks I got them to touch it so did the cut last night.

Cheers,

Chris.

Great stuff mate, you won't regret those tyres. Silverstone 117's or bobcat tyres, not much difference anyway. It looks like you've lowered your lux as those tyres are so fricking big :o. I'm thinking the side of your lux is going to get muddy, these things chuck mud around like nobodies business.

G'day Chris.
Im looking into getting some new tyres but wondering how much work is involved making the 33s fit with a 2inch? Do they scrub at all? You might get a few ppl interested in the right up as the previous guy asked too.
Thanks man n hope to see you on the tracks soon!
Cheers, Stuart

Hey mate, lux is looking good, I'm having the same drama with my rear guards at the moment. thinking of using some off road camper trailer type ones that have the extra fold on them. May have to start chopping the tubes off the bottom of the tray i'd say.Looks good with the gu rims on too.

Sorry guys I missed all these posts above. Ive just done the normal trimming to make the 33's fit on the 2inch lift. Body mount chop, flare trim, inner guard remold and bash the pinch weld back. They fit no worries, just touch the chassis at the back and the swaybar at the front but not enough for any problems. They hit the flares on full bump, sometimes pretty hard if its a high speed big bump but doesnt worry me its just rubbed the paint off the underside of the flare a bit. They nearly get past the inside of the flare. Over all im very happy with the set up.

Ill post another update when I have more time. Ive recently made my own 3inch exhaust and getting it all ready for another 3 or 4 month trip later this year.

Cheers,

Chris.

Cheers mate.

The tyres dont actually hit the tie rails or mud guards on the tray at all. I havent looked closely to see how much clearance ive got but obviously enough.

Cheers,

Chris.
