I agree with the black on silver. Looks way better than I expected.

Thanks Mate, like it for now will see how a black bar wheels suits it before I make my final judgement

Re: Mick's Lux - Let There Be Light

Postby helmut79 on Mon, 31 Jan 2011 12:30 +0000

So during the week had some Led 12V lights turn up. Bought them from EBay pretty cheap $68 for 4 x 60cm led bars in aluminium channel. Each consist of 36 individual Led’s and draw around 0.32 amps per hour. Each bar comes with a water proofed DC connections on each end one male one female, so you can wire up one or wire all 4 together.

So I have decided to mount these under the hard lid, so when camping it is easy to see when cooking and also lights up the tub. The lights come with channel clips with I screw into the lid on the underside.

I have made these a non-permanent it as I will be getting a canopy during the year and will move then into it when it arrives. Went down to JayCar and got a female DC connector and a cigarette plug with cable. Was going to use allot thicker gauge wire but the DC connector has such small connectors had to use some twin core speaker wire I had. The low current and amp draw should be fine for the speaker wire

Below are the lights mounted under the hard lid

The light they provide at night not bad I think for a low amp draw. I’m very happy with them.

While I was buying on EBay com across some car mats with “Hilux” embroidered on them. They are straight out of Thailand and look pretty good. Like the back one as it goes over the tail shaft hump and both rear foot wells.

Also found at the same Thai shop were the below chrome scuff plates, could not resist getting my chrome on so packaged them up with the mats and got a pretty sweet deal for both items.

Well thats it for the time being more to come latter

Funny you say that Troy a mate said the same thing when I showed him, must be some shady characters lurking around in dark corners of this site with the Triton owners who really want a Hilux

Another vote for the 3rd rims Mick. You getting them from the US? There might be a few guys interested in getting some over while your at it? Save some dollars on shipping......

Correct Billy, importing them from the US whilst the dollar is equal or better.

Link below, Steve is very quick to reply and the prices are great. P&H is very reasonable and he uses paypal for the transaction.

I like the middle 1 looks a bit chunkier than the 3rd and a black rim looks good on your coloured car. Are these in Aus or ru going to bring them in?

All US sourced rims Kyle and depending how wide a tyre you want to run have an even bigger choice. Just like these bad boys

Image

They are a p18 so a 265/70x17 or a 275/70x17 would be the biggest you could run without rubbing and destroying the tyre
