Hello Jap

I have never worked on a TRD Hilux and I have wanted to find out for a while now if TRD Australia actually followed the same installation protocol as the States and “Re-Flashed” the ECU with Toyota Software.

Can you tell us if your Standard TRD Hilux already had a “piggy back” ECU or not?

No.

There is a TRD sticker on the side of the factory ECU however, so I'm presuming it has had the 'flash' treatment.

Hey mate very nice. I have a 2009 SL just started playing with it. They really are the best hilux you can get.

Which exhaust did you get or was it a custom?

I will post some pictures of mine shortly.

I got these so i dont have to run 'super skinnies' on the front.
Radials front and rear now makes me track legal.

Where did you get the overdrive pulley from and could you use the same belt.
I have looked at couple from the states but they offer water pump pulley as well.
Wouldn't mind the new adjuster but unsure about the water pump.
Is your Toyota dealer Anal on warranty stuff as well lucky to change the ashtray without them saying that will effect warranty.

I'm having some issues with belts at the moment, I have a Gatorback on order from the States, supposed to be pretty good as far as multi-v's go.

The overdrive kit you are talking about must be purchased with the water pump pulley and yes, the same belt is used.
Have a look at the distance between the water pump pulley and the back of the blower belt as it lies on the crank pulley, there is 8mm at best. This is why the water pump pulley must be changed. Also comes with 2 new idlers, one smooth, the other one ribbed due to their positioning.
It will give you another 2 psi at the manifold.

Shit yeah, Drags on Saturday arvo in Townsville (weather permitting of course)
The radials have been 'pre-warmed' and are ready to snap necks and hopefully not much more than that.

Any townsville members here?
