Not bad Jap, how quicker can it run on your current set up?

Are you still going to put the laughing gas on?

Cheers all

No nitrous, yet or maybe never. Got a couple things left to try (all while keeping the vehicle legal) and see where that leaves it. There is no reason that I can't run a 13.4-13.5 at Willowbank, shame its so far away lol.

Do you run in 2WD Jap, or 4WD for better traction on takeoff...just wondering.

And no offence, but I seriously rekon this truck is capable of much better times....

Have considered a regear?

Have you upped the boost on that blower? These engines are so underpowered from factory its not funny....

what kw is the engine doing at the flywheel these days with all ya mods?

I think his 1/8 et and 60'' are quiet good considering the mph. Nothing to be sneezed at for a heavy 4x4. No doubt the sticky track helps a lot here.

Just needs more horsepower for the second half of the track to really get it going. Where does it end though?

At some point you need to ask yourself if you are building a pure drag car... or a tough streeter. The more you start digging in to the engine to find those neddies for the track, the more drivability suffers on those nice Sunday drives.

It's quick enough now to beat almost any normal car off the lights...(except for my lux, lol)
How far are you going to go with this car?

Unfortunately, I think to get much more out of it in the top end of the track, your going to need more hp, either nitrous and a separate fuel system or bigger injectors, lower comp forged pistons, some head and cam work, and more boost.

That's when the rest of the car starts falling off.... Some days I wish i still had the old 2.8 diesel under the hood and then others I wish I had a nitrous fed blown big block.

Hey jap,
Awesome truck you have! Just wondering which k&n cold air intake kit you had in the beginning and where you bought it from?
Cheers.

To start with an answer, it was for a K&N kit designed for a Tacoma, got it off a vendor on eBay.

Good to be back!
Had a bit of a break getting things sorted out and just catching up with life in general.
Not a great deal has happened with the hilux, raced it at Winton in June, ran well, but had some issues on the way home, suspect some crap built up in the valve body.
I have taken the shims out of the diff to preserve the tyres a little
If anyone wants them, you can have them for the price of a carton.
They will certainly stiffen up your limited slip and all in all, pretty easy to install.
Hardest part of the job is putting the brakes back together after you pop the axles back in ha ha

Been there and done that already... not keen on losing my licence again :? That last time I did I went for 18 months total and I'm not sure my Mrs will tolerate me having Swedish backpackers driving me around again. Well maybe Lars... not Inga! And where is the fun in that
