Well, I went and did it.

I traded my 100 series land barge and the TRD in on a BT50 dual cab.
The hilux was pretty stock when it was traded though 8-)

End of an era.

The mazda has some big shoes to fill.

Thanks to everyone around here that put up with my ramblings, I may pop back in from time to time

Congrats on the purchase. what are the plans for the BT50?

Why the BT50 over the Ranger? IMO Rangers look alot better given they are basically the same platform.

35's fit much easier on them than hilux's.

Cheers

I asked for a quote on a ranger locally and they never got back to me with a price  so that put me off a little.
The few little things the ranger gets but the mazda doesn't (lockable tailgate for one) I have rectified through the ford spare parts department :)

Nice! What are your plans for it? I have a bt and love it, it had big shoes to fill for me too coming from a highly modded Gq patrol ute...... Filled the spot nicely.

Seems to be going well, seeing good fuel economy out of it and it is very car-like to drive out on the road......until you have to swerve for a moose

I built a 3" exhaust for it last weekend and it has livened it up a lot, it wants to shift up gears earlier now and hold them longer, no real noticeable difference in fuel economy yet, I feel most of the gains here will be seen on the highway.

Hi Jap, even though you've moved on, I've got a question about your Hilux.

In your shed you put down that you'd done a thermo fan conversion, but I couldn't find that in this thread, was just wondering if it was the Flex-a-lite kit that URD sell, or another one entirely. I was thinking about doing the same to mine, but thought i'd ask which one you had used.
