So this morning she went off to OL to get the drawers in. Very happy with the end result.

Took the measurements again for the rear, the bum's dropped 14mm from 765 to 751 - So they must be pretty heavy! I'm getting a 2" lift sorted atm, which should be an early birthday present sometime in march/early april - which carry the load better and whatnot so I'm pretty stoked for the next couple of pay packets!

It's got the fridge slide as well but the camera ran out of go-juice.

I'm tossing up where to mount the compressor. For ease of access, I'm thinking of mounting it like the picture below, but for long term, and keeping as much packing space on top I'm thinking of putting it down in the cubby hole you can see near the mudguard, out of sight, but still easy to access. Not sure, but leaning to the cubby hole as it hides it away from prying eyes, and keeps more packing space on top of the drawers should I ever need it.



Up the front of the of the tray there's about 150mm or so (haven't measured) that's unused which you can't access without taking screws out. I'm going to get a hole saw and put a finger hole in each of these so I can put the stuff I hope I dont have to access on a trip like radiator hoses etc in there, without the need to have the screws holding it in.

Thanks Rod, I made a couple of adjustments to the ARB powerbox I grabbed off you, mainly because I was bored and wanted to learn a bit more by fiddling about. Still yet to take photos n put it up, but she's all connected and workin' a beaut. Hopefully get a chance on the weekend.

Very neat job Whitey, looks good. I would find a hidey hole to mount the compressor as I think you will find it getting in the road where it is when you starting loading her up with more goodies for trips. Maybe just mount an air hose fitting on the fascia panel next to your drawers ? I have seen a few others on this forum with that setup.

Haha cheers Rokit. Yeah, it was a dumb idea to leave, but ah well, I'll take some concrete pills with me next time I drilled the pop rivets in the middle of the step out, bent the bracket back to straight and then used a couple of g-clamps and a piece of wood to straighten the step out. Wouldn't even know now...just hanging out for a good step

So I decided to mount the compressor in the hidey hole on a sheet of plywood. When I get around to it I'll paint it, or not, it was a simple job once I'd worked out what I was going to do.


I used one of the spacers I got with the drawers to hold a little bit of the weight and keep it level


I had to take one of the bolts out of the tub that was securing the drawers, using it to hold the compressor without having to drill another hole in the tub. I had a bit of water come into the tub, seemingly only on the left hand side after a particularly deep water crossing at Mt Mee, I'm not sure if it was through here or not, but a little extra rubber never did any harm


I picked up some two pin plugs as I reckon they're more secure than a cigarette/merrit plug and I mounted them essentially above the compressor

And completed, with compressor mounted and tucked away


Went over to Bud's on Friday night, and thanks to google maps who obviously can't be bothered to properly map the area, it took me an hour once I got to Springfield and nearly a 1/4 tank of fuel to find it. But I got there and got the good stuff fitted

Whitey, that looks like a job well done. Don't worry about Google Maps, my GPS was no better, Buddy is still trying to work out where on earth I engaged 4WD to go off road along the power lines to get to his place after the GPS took me up 5 dead end roads.

I like the, 'screw this' attitude Rod. So easy to get lost out there though. Each time I leave I have to throw out the anchors to catch that right-hander to get onto 'that' road, a lil bit after the 90 degree right-hander that always approaches more quickly after the sign than expected. You know the one...

So after a trip out to glasshouse on Sunday I 'may' have changed the angle of my exhaust pipe. How do I remove the exhaust pipe from that little rubber holder at the back of the car and put a new one on because at the moment the side of the pipe is rubbing against the bolt on the rear shackle?

I'll post a video up shortly of the boghole that did it.

In the 4th pic I'm guessing you're talking about? They're just the connecting wires on the terminal block, the one wire that is missing is the one from the battery, and that's black.

You're saying just to reduce confusion have all wires relating to earth black?

Don't worry too much about wire colour whitey. If you have the AUX battery totally isolated from the engine side, chances are, that it will only be you who is playing with the wires and getting confused. My inverter had two black wires that came with it for +ve and -ve power. Having said that, it is a good idea to keep a roll of red and black on hand so you can colour code stuff.

In my car, I have got a lot of low voltage twin core stuff for car PC etc which often has a stripe on one wire. It might be carrrying 5 volt, 12 volt or 19 volts. I have tried to standardise that the stripe is always on the +ve wire.

Just watch wiring to a EGT sensor. The standard says red wire is -ve, yellow wire is +ve and I found this out the hard way with EGT's of -200 or so. Thought I was driving through a blizzard!

At least your chip didn't increase the temps tho
