Sorry to hear Murf,
At the end of the day it's just a car and there are a lot more important things in life.
You shouldn't have any trouble selling her.... the V6 seems to be the pick of the bunch down here in Tassie, must be all the petrol heads out there.
Have you considered pulling accesories off and selling them, then trading the lux at Toyota?? sometimes works out better, but a bit of work.
All the best,
Jake

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Yea it is just a car, and hopefully in the future "murf series 3 hilux" will come along, and be bigger and better than the last two. Hopefully I can find a good home for it to go to.... If any of you guys have mates looking send em my way... ha ha

BAT, mate the front coils are just the normal 50mm lift champ...

And I wont be going anywhere, I will still be logging on and getting further inspiration from all the awesome utes on here for possible future adventures.........

Well guys the hilux has gone to it new owner a few weeks ago now. It had a decent trip to get there. The buyer was from WA. He didn't even look at it or haggle on price, brought it just from photos, and had it freighted over to Perth. Fair trip from Tassie to Perth...........

I was absolutely shocked at how popular this hilux was to sell. I put it on carsales one morning and headed to work. By lunch time that day I had nine missed calls, all from different people chasing it. In the end I had three buyers fighting for it. I could have priced them against each other, as I had one person offer well over asking price, but I had to be the "nice bloke" and stick to the first deal I had agreed to.

The new owner contacted me last week and said he was absolutely stocked with it when he first seen it, so m glad he is enjoying it.....

I was going through my shed the other day, and I stumbled across a factory hilux tonneau cover from my first white hilux.

As this site gave me such great info and helped out so much with my two builds I thought I would give it away to a member for free if anyone was interest. It is in good condition, so if anyone wants it and you are willing to pay the postage consider it yours.... Just PM me or something for details

Once again I would like to thank everyone who offered advice and assistance with building up my utes. As I have previously said, I will definitely still be hanging around the site, and will be back one day with an even bigger and better version 3

:D :D :D :D :D

Mate I went well with that. I submitted the application prior to actually doing any mods to the black one at all when I first brought it. I received a letter back from transport within about 2 weeks giving the go ahead. As I hadn't done any other mods I didn't even need to have any inspection, they fully approved it just from the application. They will approve a maximum 50mm lift whether it be body lift or suspension without inspection.

I decided not to go ahead in the end, but I kept the approval letter in case I did it later on.

With your bus mate, you still need to adhere to all aspects of the national code of practice to get it through. So that includes a total lift including tyres of 150mm.

They will allow you 50mm body lift + 50mm suspension lift + 50mm increase in tyre size.

The worst thing for hilux's is the maximum tyre size you can go is 31's (because the standard size is so bloody small). Also you need to be aware of not increasing you wheel track to much. The code always stated a maximum increase of 15mm for an independent suspension ,but I have since noticed it has been changed to read - 50mm for any AWD, OR 4WD vehicle so that may help with a bit wider rim.

After all this has been approved mate, you will then need to do the swerve test etc......

If you need mate I have two sets of standard alloy SR5 rims and tyres (both sets are now for sale) if you needed to get it passed inspection.

I also have two standard sets of suspension if you needed anything like that as well.

Any other info you might need mate, just drop me a question and I am happy to reply

Cool Murf! I'm gonna send off the ap next week.
Not worried about bigger tyres as they can be easily swapped over if the fuzz pull me up, I've got 2 sets of 31's in the garage that get used as Daily's and the 32 bighorns are gonna get replaced with 33's which will only really go on when headed bush (which is most of the time  ).
