Hi KTM,

Great work on your mods, the lady looks great!!! I'm interested in the Delphi Fuel filter water seperator, since down here in the tropics, we often get bad fuel. Sorry, didn"t go far enough in your thread. But I'm interested in the bendix HD pads, since my local guy is taking super long to get the Hawks pad I would like to look into the bendix. Can you share the part number?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hey Alex

cheers for the kind words :D
yeah the Delpi fuel filter / water seperator works very well and is cheap insurance to protect ya engine imho, i change both the oem and delpi filter every 20k and you should see how much more black the delpi filter is compared than the oem one now

the part # for the front HD pads are: DB1739HD thats straight off the box they came in, i confirmed it online just then and i also noticed the ultimate pads are now avalible for our lux's 8-)

cheers Troy

The part number for my Bendix pads are: DB1149L.

But are the ultimate pads worth swapping over for?

I dunno to be hounest, there supposed to have even better braking than the HD but I've heard that they chew out rotors quicker.

Next up I orderd 5 infinity 15x8 black rims in a 0 offset from Monster rides, all i can say is Matty and Max's service is second to none they are the best ppl to deal with, I highly recomend them to any one who is after some MR parts for there lux.

Infinity made a mistake and sent 4 rims when i ordered 5 so a quick Pm to Max and he was straight onto them chasing it up for me, in Infinitys defence it was christmas time and they were proberbly really busy but after Max chased them down emailing them and sorting it out they missed the courier twice so it was a good week and a half till i got my last rim

Max in this time was constantly letting me know any updates that came avalible to him.

Hounstly i would give Monster Rides my money any day because of the great service and products they provide :D

I then got fitted Maxxis Bighorns in a 32x11.5r15 to the rims, now they dont fit straight on there is a fair bit of trimming to get them to clear everything (nearly as much trimming as fitting a 33'' tyre) on full suspension uptravel. Il post pics of my trimming and how to keep your mudflaps later tonight as i got to go to workies in a min, so stay tuned!!!!! lots more pics to come

Here is the lux as she stands ATM

Looks the goods mate... What did you have to trim to get the Bighorns on? I'm running 32x11.5 Bighorns and have them at full lock and compresion and they only just touch the inside of mudflap.. thats with about 2.5inch lift up front...

Hey guys, cheers for the positive comments :D

sorry for the slow reply i had a big Australia day celebration

Jake i think because your running a pos10 and mine are 0 offset that could make all the differance, here is what i done to get the clearance i needed;

To start off i took the swaybar off to get full uptravel where the LCA sits on the bumpstop at the same time i removed the mudflaps, i then did some controlled flex tests and found the tyres would catch on the bottom corner of the flare and rub hard on the inner plastic gaurd, if the tyres were rotating it would rip it all off.

So i had to get the hammer and Dremel out to trim  i also found the tyres just touch on the ARB splash gaurds, so i modified them aswell.

Here is the ARB bullbar splash gaurd and how i modified them. I cut 30mm off and welded it 30mm further back. 30mm is the max you can take off because any more the inner gaurd liner fouls on the washer bottle inside the gaurd.
Image

Image

To stop the washer bottle plug from wearing through the plastic inner liner (because the inner guard is hard up against it now) i salasticed on a piece of insertion rubber onto the inside of the gaurd in between the washer bottle plug and inner gaurd.

Next up is the actual trimming of the flare, inner guard and mudflap.
Here is what i had to remove from the mudflap, i added a new fixing point with stainless steel screws to support the mudflap.

Next is the trimming of the flare, i only took off what i needed. Now i have about 15mm clearance from the tyre on full compression and turning. Before i trimmed it, it was rubbing and going to pop the flare off :o

I then had to pull back the inner guard and bash back the pinch weld so i could remould the plastic inner guard for clearance.

I then gave it all a high pressure clean and painted the pinch weld with 2 coats of killrust to prevent rust forming. Once the paint dryed i then salasticed up the bottom of the flare to stop rocks and mud from getting inside the flare, i still kept the drain slot in the bottom of the flare so if and debris does get in, it can escape. I then used a heat gun on a low heat and moulded the plastic guard and flattened it as close to the pinch weld as possible
Image

I used some braided stainless steel cable and a zippy tie to hold the mudflap out the way of the tyre
Image

In this photo you can see how much extra clearance i have gained

I didnt get any before pics when i was testing where it was rubbing as i didnt have my camera with me, ill be getting some good flex shots this saterday on my trip to show how it clears on full compression.

I did have some after pics of me flexing it up but the old man needed room on the camera so he deleted my flex pics showing the clearance.

here is a couple of extra pics :D :D

Ute looks good with the black rims and the tire size suits it too. We've had a good run with those Bighorn's, would always buy them again.

S'cuse my ignorance but what's unit?
