Next up is i put in a fuse block to tidy up the wiring under the bonnet. Im now in the process of insulating all the wires in automotive corrigated split tubing to protect them and tidy up under there :ugeek:

im now up in arms in what i want to do with the rear diff ive narrowed it down to 3 types of lockers it will either be the ARB air locker, the Detroit or the 4wd systems lokka ive heard some horror storys about all of them and im worried if i go down the auto locker path it will hinder on road preformance to much. i do like the idea of them being set and forget but i also do like the idea of 100% controll of the lux with the ARB i dunno ive got to make my mind up soon because i have a 4x4 trip coming up that i want to have the lux nearly fully set up for.

You also forgot the eaton elocker which will work in the rear as well. No O rings to leak (says he who bought the ARB anyway)...

There should be a thread on lockers, it may be a sticky one which suggested if a city daily driver, go with ARB or eLocker otherwise the Detroit.

Go the ARB locker I reckon, as you already have the front locker and compressor fitted to suit.

yeah the ARB is the safest choice, and i think it will be the easyest to live with. The only real down side is ill loose my lsd for on the road  but for every modification there is a sacrafice. i think my lsd still works fine on the road but offroad it sux

Ya gota have sexy switches! Actually, I hvae not noticed the loss of the LSD. In fact, I think it might be bit nicer to drive round town without it. I don' seem to chirp the tyres anymore

Haven't tried it myself a lot, but pretty sure liberal application of both VMN chip and right boot tightens turning circle in both wet and dry weather

hey guys just a small up date finally got around to installing the EGT probe in the exhaust on the weekend. I didnt blow a hole when i welded it which i was happy about :D . if only i could weld like Bubs  lol
Image
with the 3'' exhaust with no chip i average about 350-400degs but when i nailed it through all the gears under load it peeked at 500degs
now i cant wait till i do my tax so i can get my new tyres/rims and rear locker 8-) HAPPY DAYS :D

ps im so glad i replaced all the exhaust nuts and bolts with stainless steel. This time i didnt break my 1/4'' sidchrome ratchet trying to undo the nuts off the turbo. :D

nice build bro!!! do you have any pics of the muffler which you have used with the exhaust? hows the noise compared to stock system? also how much did the DBA rotors and pads set you back?

Hey Brown, cheers :D

on pg2 if you click on the 1st pic it will show the muffler, im not sure the brand, all i know is they messed around with different brands and found that one gave the best preformance.

I dont have the muffler on my system any more coz i wanted it louder so i got sterling to make up a straight through section to replace the muffler section, (more turbo spooling noise aswell)

With the muffler section in it defanatly had a better sound than stock, if anything with the muffler on it sounds deeper without the bark and less turbo spooling noise as mine has now

by memoery the DBA rotors were around $320-350 each for the 4000 series rotors and pads were about $60

cheers Troy

oh i see...you changed to a straight through design. i've been going over many chambered muffler designs because i want to fabricate a 3" systems on mine..but i really dont want much extra sound becuase i dont really off-road and i use the vehicle daily. i guess i'll have to try a few different mufflers out and see which has the best sound vs. performance compromise. thanks for the prices bro...i am visitin aussie in november and i am going to try and bring back some parts for my lux.

No worries Brown

your very welcome, i wonder if Sterling exhausts ship internationally? you could give them a buzz to see if they would.

cheers Troy
