Next up is the 3'' mandrel bent exhaust with high flow cat and muffler.
Image
I first hung them up and put 3 coats of flame proof matt black paint on them, because when it was freighted to me, the freight guys did not really take alot of care and took alot of the paint off.

Here it is fitted to the Lux, as you can see i had a bit of fun trying out the new front locker, i washed it before i took the pics but it has stained it from the mud sticking to it when hot. The kit fits very well, its all tucked up nicely but has a fair bit of clearance from the body so shouldent rub any where. The only drama i had was getting the old turbo dump pipe off. The nuts were seised to the studs on the turbo.

Troy,

What's the cost and specifications of your Delphi 7111-296 filter?

Is it a primary filter or secondary (after the original)?

Your pictures take a long time to show up and even that I can only partially see the pictures! Must be my bloody ISP........
Cheers

Not to steal KTm's thread but mine is a primary and cost around $110 plus a few bits of hose to fit, bolted it up near the factory filter on the side of the firewall. the unit has 2 inlets either side, one in and one out. You block the ones you dont use. Filter bolts on underneath with a glass bowl bottom. Although the factory filter works well, and I can vouch for that after the amount of shit I got in my tank... these have the benifit of being able to eyeball the quality of the fuel in the bowl allowing you to pickup a bad batch of fuel earlier... cos its not just dirt and shit that can wreck your car... a bad blend of fuel that contains other liquid crap can send your motor downhill really quickly...

I'll get some photo's of mine later, but KTM, do you have any shots of yours...

Now for the custom sliders.

The sliders are angled at 12 deg upwards at the outside edge so when rock sliding, it will help avoiding damage to both tubes. Its also easyer to drag 1 bit of tube over a rock compared to 2. The inside tube is 4mm thick and the outside is 2mm by memory or it could be 6mm and 4mm. Put it this way id bend the chassis before id bend these babys lol. 8-)

Hey Brendon
Yeah thats the one, you can get different glass sizes as well, also there is a few different styles of the top part that holds the filter. The filters are cheap there only 10 bucks by memory and the whole set up was around $120 i think. :? Ive got it as the primary filter because it filters to 2-4 microns.

I still haven't got around to adding a additional primary fuel/diesel filter.

Cheers for the kind words guys.
Just thought id share with ya all how the new exhaust is going, firstly i must say im suprised how much of a difference in acceleration it has made. I really notice it when taking off, there is no turbo lag there anymore. 1st, 2nd and 3rd there is a noticable differance in acceleration. 4th and 5th not really much differance. As for torque i cant say a huge gain but there is a differance. I tested that out by going up a big hill that we have on the way to my work, flat to the boards it used to stay at the same speed in 3rd gear. Now it slowly gains speed going up. Im yet to see if it is more economical but with the snorkle and exhaust id imagine a small gain. I think the snorkle and exhaust work well together in providing that extra bit of power.

Now for the front locker what a differance, i put it through its paces on the weekend in the mud. The best test was this muddy hill, i have done it in the dry and struggled sometimes to get up. With the locker engauged i got up 2nd go. i would have got up 1st go but the front slid down off the ledge. I would have no chance getting up without the locker in the wet. Well mabe i would but would have damaged the lux. Its so much nicer to crawl up stuff knowing less strain on the drive train.
Cheers Troy

I thought i would post up the things you need to make my diff breather set up as i have had a few pms about them. (Skog hope ya dont mind me posting this :? if ya do let me know ill remove it. :) )

The things ya need are:
x4 baffle filters with 1/4 male thread
x4 stainless steel barrel joiners female 1/4 thread each end
7/64 hose for add, gearbox/tranny,
1/4 hose for rear diff
5/16 hose for front diff
length of hose depends where ya want to run it

7/64 joiner to plug into gearbox/tranny hose
x1 stainless steel 5/16 barb 1/4 male thread
x1 stainless steel 1/4 barb with 1/4 male thread
x2 stainless steel elbows 1/4 female thread each end
x2 stainless steel elbow with 7/64 barb and 1/4 male thread (mine are plastic because i couldent get stainless)
x1 Toyota rear diff union or somthing simular and 1 small hose clamp to hold the hose on the union.
Lots of cable ties lol

Aluminium angle to use as your mounting fixture. Drill x4 13mm holes at equal spacing to mount baffles and x1 6mm hole for mounting screw.
Image
You can get all the parts from industrial hose places.

Let me know if i have made any mistakes. :D
