Bluedogs build

Here is the Hilux as purchased 2007 SR D-4D Auto stock as a rock but that will change ! Already have a set of ROH RTX 16 X 7 with Coopers STT 265/75/16 ready to go on. Since taking these pics have had the lift kit on it. Still waiting on ARB for the bullbar deluxe winch with fog lights to suit flares, Snorkel, flares and side steps with brush bars. Been on order now for over a month WTF ! Will take more pics as I go. OME lift using the Prado front springs, medium rears ARB couldnt supply standard struts and rear shocks so they upgraded free of charge to the new Nitro sports. So far very happy with the ride and handling. I know OME but we will see I have read so much it made my head hurt LOL. Measurements (front) from rim to guard 790mm right hand side and 785mm left side. Will measure again once bullbar etc is fitted.

Looking great there Bluedogs.
Those ROH wheels look really nice along with the Coopers STT's.
Get some more photos up once you have some more of the gear fitted.
Actually forgot how great these trucks look bog stock without any mods in your first pic.
Well done and good luck with your progress Im sure many on here will help you with it.
Cheers

Awesome mate. That is quite a high lift in comparison to some other lift combos, it will be interesting to see of it settles much. We need some updates with the lift and new rubber. Geez you forget how small the stock razor blade tyres are!

Heres the pics of the lift, it will be interesting on the amount of drop I get once completing the modifications. I have resisted on putting the wheels and tyres on till i get the flares, bloody hard as those wheels and tyres look so good. Windows have been tinted now, looks awesome even the misses is referring to the Hilux as 'The Beast' LOL.

Well ARB finally got some of my gear in, still waiting for the flares but got the bar and side steps. Put the bar on today (Deluxe winch with fog lights) bloody hell that was an effort. The bar has changed the height of the lift by 10mm so from rim (16inch) to guard is now 780mm. I will wait for the flares before putting the scrub bars on but will fit the side steps when I get a bit more time. Couple of things I didnt like about the ARB fitting.

1. Using scotch locks to connect wiring/relays for the indicators/parker lights. So I spliced into them and soldered all the joints.
2. Cable ties to fasten the under guard to the wings. I used some of the orginal clips from the bumper and drilled and screwed to the wing plates.
3. I used the after market fog lights from e-bay and although they look the part they were a little loose in the brakets so a bit of bending and reshaping had them better. I then adjusted them prior to putting the wings on and squeezed some black silicone into the mounts that has firmed them up.
4. Thought that there could have been a better way to fit the fog light surrounds other than just silicone on and hold in place with tape till it goes off.

Very happy with the look of the bar on the vehicle will post some pics tomorrow. Does look funny with the orginal wheels still on it but I will continue to fight the urge to put the new ones on till the flares are fitted.

Cheers Jason

Good man, I hate Scotch Locks with a passion. I never seem to get a good join so I solder every join too.

Good to see it is taking shape, I am sure the Hilux Angel is looking down from above with approval. :D

Not the best pic but here is the bar fitted.

Here is the inner guard and the fixings that I used.

An update on the flares, booked in for paint on the 18th of this month, once fitted back to saving the money for the rest of the mods. Still undecided on what lights, been looking at the Hella 4000 with HID mods but open to suggestions.

X 2 on that.

Lightforce are great lights, in my experience have good customer service and are Australian made.

Triple X that. I am using LF170 as I found the 240's a bit too big.

Nice bar....... especially when it's spanking new................

Have a look at the HID's that are available through AED. I fitted them to my lux and they are great. Well priced for HID with internal ballast. They are almost identical to look at as the Rally 4000. The Rally 4000 covers fit them and the adjustment and mounting is the same. They have 3 mounting posts to secure them.
I think they cost me about $475 each last year.

Good to hear it's all coming together. Shame you are a bit far away or I'd be down and picking up Max and coming along for the ride. Never had the opportunity to have a go at a deer but love a bit of venison.
