Mate that is a very tidy unit indeed. i also like the fact that its a black xcab and you have put almost all the mods on yours i want on mine... can i be very rude and ask how much you have spent so far.

Cheers Sam

Not sure on how much travel i have in the front with the new UCA's but they reckon it gives 8" and just from mucking arround with the jack id rekon it would have to be very close to that. Il do some tests and keep on posting on this thread about the exact lift height, front and rear travel etc

Well Ive trimmed the guards, made some new mudflaps and got the tyres clearing. The only problem now is the body mounts. Looks like im going to have to take your advice on that one maxx.
Replacement cost on all the mods would have to be around the 15k mark had to sell the boat lol back to the muddy banks with the crocs lol

Thanks for the advice maxx was easier than i thought.

nice job...you dont the mudflaps thou, rip em off....

Ill be doing the same thing when I try squeeze 34's on later on in the year.

so how much extra space did you get just with the bodymount trim? .5" or more?

;)

Yeh it would be an easy .5" at full lock the closest the tyre gets is about 3mm gap with brand new tyres. The mud flaps clear I just made them out of some thin rubber and got chains pulling them back, should be ok.

how far do your tyres hang out past your flares when wheels are straight ahead?

Front and rear they are prob 2" outside the stock flares. I put a set of bushman 65mm rubber flares on the edge of the stock ones to bring em back inside and to stop too much mud, stones etc.

A ha...thanks for that, I was considering doing the same thing if I ever went wider.....just my chunky sidewall hangs out past the flare.

did you screw them in with tech screws into the flare or use something else?

did you feed the wire through the outer edge?

cheers

I just used the screws provided with the flares, there is plenty of them and they seem to work well. Yeh i fed the wire thru makes it hold its shape and stiffens it all up.

The rims are a -12 offset which is why they stick out so far but thats the only offset the 16x8's came in which is also why they rub and I have prob widend the track more than im supposed to but it looks great lol and no rubbing YAY lol

I forget to mention too when we were talking about the bash plates. The guys at wizard put together a custom set of spacers so you can re attatch the stock bash plates after the lift, so the tjm ones would still fit but like i said if i put some on il make some myself to keep as much ground clearance as i can

Drew, if you have a good look at Max's Quest for Clearance thread, you will find lots of ideas on the bash plate. With what you have done, I would favour getting a custom one made as you will end up with better clearance than the TJM alternative.

Hey Drew

What brand of cruise is that? also are you going to extend ya bump stops 2 prevent ya tyres hacking into ya flares?
Cheers Troy

KTM, his suspension may be stiff enough not to cause that, but Drew would have to go offroad and flex the weight of the vehicle all on one side and test the clearance available out.

When I removed my swaybar, I had just over 9" of travel..... :o

It can be achieved it depends on how stiff your front springs are and if you contact the flare.guard and/or bump stop.

with me bump stop extended to protect the strut from bottoming out, Istill get 8.5 inches of travel...cant complain there.

Hey ktm its a command cruise unit. Its a good unit, its what all the toyota dealers fit to the hilux up here cause toyota wont give them the factory one. Costs about $1000 fitted but go it for free cause mine was supposed to get factory cruise but didnt.... but we wont go there lol

As for the bump stops as maxx said im not going to do it for now unit i get to go and really give it a hard time and find out it it does touch the top of the guards. There is quiet a bit of room there so i think the sring will stop it before it gets that high but i wont know till i have a play.

Good luck with the cruise Drew. The command units are good gear, I've had a couple. One of them was in a manual and I had trouble with the clutch switch bracket bending and the switch not activating. Get right on to them if you have that problem (they did fit one right :?: ).

Thanks rod will do. The only problem i had with the fitment so far is where they put the control on the steering column, it was so far away from the steering wheel i had to take my hand off to reach it and my knee hit it when changing gears.

I asked them to move it only to be told thats the only place it would fit there was too much stuff behind the plastic, even when i said i have had the plastic off and there was heaps of room they still wouldnt listen.
So i moved it myself lol I couldnt get the plug back thru the hole so just drilled a new one cut a slit to move the wires and put a plug in the old one looked good but now the old hole is filled by the switch for the spotlights.
