alot going on the battery side of your truck, with the master cyclinder, the abs pump fule filter, fuse box & battery all in together. the other side must be wide open and clear for a decent second battery install

About finished up under the hood, turned out great and plenty of room for future additions to the block.

Thanks! It's a Littelfuse HWB60, takes 280 size components. Relays, breakers, fuses etc, very configurable and if you build one up yourself they're fairly inexpensive as well. Mine should have room for anything I could ever want to add in the future. Battery hold down turned out great, pics to come.

Neat little box. All the electrical work looks as good if not better than factory
Satisfying to see new life breathed into an old rig :)

Thanks! and it sure is!

Got the battery hold down finished up, used solid rivets, turned out quite sturdy. Next step wiring the interior side and switches. Also cleaning up or removing a remote start system that is currently installed.

Also stopped in to get the K02s balanced, had a bad vibe at 100kms/hr, very smooth now.

Got into the dash last night, the remote start system was quite a mess, scotch locks everywhere!

I removed everything and repaired the damaged wiring where the scotch locks were installed. Then I got the switches for the LEDs and the winch and USB socket mounted and loomed with the factory wiring.

.250 split loom came, so finished tidying up the wiring up front.

Also, wheel cylinders arrived from Latvia so got them installed and flushed the brake system thoroughly. There should now be no fluid in the truck that hasn't been replaced.

Ordered some Weathertech floor mats, I'm planning to take a brief break for other projects (if I can). Next up should be suspension followed by interior and lastly paint, bodywork and aesthetics. Cheers :)

 agreed, but they'll be useless with fresh fluid! Old bleeders were frozen solid...

Wow you are putting a lot of work into rebuilding that 2008. I was lucky and got my 2009 kun25L for a good price with only 22K kilos on it in Dallas. Have been driving it since 2011 and have had virtually no maintenance problems except for the usual tires, brakes and other wearable items. My biggest problems are self made with a few fender benders and my Dastek Unichip power optimizer which quit on me in about 6 years.

That's great that you found one for a good price with such low miles! I was not as lucky but it's coming together! Was there a big benefit from the Dastek chip?

Weathertech floor mats came in, excellent fit!

Took the Hilux on a ferry ride. Also figured out one of the most annoying rattles which turned out to be the brake pedal when going over bumps... Removed the hinge clevis pin and added a neoprene washer, much quieter now!

I'll swap it for a RHD one if anyone wants to. :D

I noticed while doing the wiring that the PO had the winch mounted feet down with no support on the aft end of the tray (can move it slightly by hand) Hard to say but it looks to me like it would trash the mount if any real load was ever put on the winch. Luckily it has never been used.

After a bit of thought I decided to tie into the front of the frame rails with some 2.5" steel angle

I installed some slightly longer bolts to the aft winch legs and added two M10 bolts to the edges of the tray for rigidity. Painted and baked, should support anything the winch can throw at it.

Pulled the passenger window out to attempt polishing with Cerium Oxide (all side windows are badly scratched like someone cleaned them with sandpaper). The polishing was somewhat successful but incredibly time consuming so I've continued my search for someone that can ship 4 side windows to the USA.

While I had the door panel off I decided it was a good time to work out the dent/crease in the door. down the road when I repaint I'll likely work it a bit more and put a skim coat over it but it turned out pretty good.
