06 SR5 V6 touring build

Hey there all.
Thought I'd start a build thread after 3 years.
I brought this truck 3 years ago from a dealer south of Auckland. It was 1 owner from new.
I was looking for a V6 Hilux to replace my 99 2wd SR5 with the 2.7 petrol. Needed something bigger to tow & auto. Wasent looking for a 4wd, but this one poped up for the right price.

It had been resprayed prior to going onto the lot.
Had brand new 2015 SR5 wheels & tyres. Dueler H/T tyres
Fleetline hard lid
Factory nudge bar
Reversing sensors

First thing to go was the 6 disk CD stacker.
In went a Alpine CDE126bt, Alpine PDX5 amp, Alpine type r speakers & a Alpine type r 8" sub.
Waited for a Fleetline utely canopy to come up for sale. Bonus was the guy gave me the alloy tube bar for free with it.
Had the canopy painted & had rhino roof tracks fitted aswell.
Fitted the roof racks.
Sold my house.
Fitted 120 prado front breaks with brembo disks & pads.
tinted the windows
Fitted a new MCC alloy front bar. Also fitted brand new lights from a 08 & a prado grill.
Also have fitted TRD spark plugs, air filter, oil cap & radiator cap.
Next up is shocks & tyres.
I'm looking at blistien shocks & dueler 697 tyres.
This was a working vehicle, not a hardcore 4x4. Used for towing & long distance driving. Iv done 85km in 3 years.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Get yourself an auto transmission cooler (Wholesale Autos in Bayswater VIC sell a kit) and get the fluid flushed. Best thing you'll ever do for an A750F if you are going to tow with it.

Yes I want to fit a cooler. But it dosent get nearly as hot here in Auckland. It's on my to do list & the auto fluid gets changed every 12 months.

Some new shocks for the rear.
$509 inc GST shiped from NZ sulpplyer.
Fronts are $530 inc GST

If you are going to tow, regardless of ambient you need a transmission cooler. It is probably the most critical thing and first thing needed on one of these if doing anything involving towing or 4x4 work on sand.

Then you'll only have to change transmission fluid every 3-4 years if that!

85km in 3 years?!? Surely that's a typing error???

The canopy looks awesome by the way, haven't seen many like that.

85000km
Yes the canopy is good. I had one on my last truck & waited till one came up for sale. It's called a ultra canopy made by fleetline here in Auckland

Just checking, but you've obviously got 17" rims to fit the prado brake callipers? Correct me if i'm wrong?
Good to see another from NZ.

Cheers, Cam

Yes I'm running 17" rims.
The dealer fitted them. I was already up for new disks & pads so I figured why not

So bridgestone had a sale in September.
Brought 3 new tyres & got 1 for free. $1420.00 fitted, balanced & a wheel ailment.
I brought a matching 17" rim & tyre for $150 as well.

Had the lift kit fitted just before xmas. I'm waiting for the front springs to settle before I add new shackles to the rear. ImageImageImage
