Been some teething problems with the build, so I'll get photos once I get it all sorted.

The guys that built the canopy messed up, and the wheel carriers and ladder are suited for 33's, not 35's. They told me they assumed it would work.....What The Actual F@#K?!
So I'm in the process of fixing that up. Unfortunately I'm in Sydney and had it built in Brisbane, so I won't be dropping in, and they aren't trying to do anything to help me, so f@#k 'em. Until then I'm not taking it off road, which is killing me.

They also wired up a switch for the fridge in reverse, so when the switch is in the off position, the fridge is drawing power. Along with that, when the SAS was done, somehow the circuit breaker for the dcdc charger was tripped. Took me a while to work out why the aux battery was draining on a 4 hour drive while I thought the fridge was off. To their credit though, all their wiring is beautiful, looks so much better than factory! And the rest of the canopy is a work of art.

I guess it's not to bad considering it went to 3 shops to get the build this far (Canopy, raptor and SAS). And at least I'm driving it now!

And unrelated, my exhaust has completely broken off on the first curve from the turbo. So it sounds like it has asthma. Fixing that and the switch this weekend.

Sounds relatively minor for the massive work. Except the wheel carriers, that’s just a [emoji459] up

They thought it would work?! Do they realise that the differnece between 2x33s and 2x35s is 4 #^#*ing inches!

That's bordering on braindead. But, at least the wheels are spinning now. It's a hell of a read this build, mate.

Working through the bits and pieces to 'finish' the build.

Replaced the damaged exhaust section, the pipe from the turbo had completely broken. Got all my torque back! Had some luck finishing off some wiring in the cab, found out that the fridge switch in the dash is wired up right, but they must have done something ass backwards somewhere cause the switch turns the fridge off when it should be on....

Going to get the guys that did the SAS to sort out new wheel carriers when it goes back to see them. They still have to install a dual diaphragm brake booster for me. It was on my original list of options but they missed it and it's on back order. It stops as well on 35's as it did on 32's and passed engineering (because it now has 80 series front rotors, 105 series pads and braided lines) but stopping like an unmodified Hilux is nothing to brag about.

And since putting the canopy on, my rear view mirrors were a bit useless, so I upgraded to these.

Ocam tow mirrors. $300 less than clearviews, better looking I reckon and work just as well. Saw a video of clearviews being taken apart and realised there wasn't much to them, so for a lot less I thought I'd be pretty safe. Did manage to shear a bolt putting them in (because I'm an idiot) but they're not going anywhere :? Bought them off their eBay store for $50 less than their website, and they arrived in 2 days. Happy.

I'll get photos and go through the all the new goodness when I have it ready to take off road.

Cheers mate.
I love the Raptor, do it man! I was really nervous about getting it done to start with and then I thought I'd made a mistake with the colour, but the whole thing was such a good decision.
The guys that did mine did a closed door respray with the liner, and then did all the interior bits in auto paint. That way none of the seals are up against the textured liner but there is no original paint unless you open the bonnet or crawl under it.

I've told my wife if I win powerball I'm buying a Tundra and getting it done in white raptor.

That's a Beast mate
Well done persevering, I've done a few power plant conversions over the years and I understand what it's like when your months into it and don't seem to be getting anywhere
Now you can reap the rewards
And a big up's to the Mrs for keeping the faith too

Nice one! Thanks for the feedback man. I work in a panel shop so I have a spray booth at my disposal. My ute is already that color so I'm set. Thanks again!

Cheers mate. It's my daily driver too, so I never really had the option of bailing on the build :D

Woo hoo!! Got sent this by Kinselas Kustoms this morning. Brake booster finally arrived at the workshop and is good to go in next week. They'll be fixing the few last niggling issues with the build too. Apparently the new booster will split rubber lines if you don't upgrade and (according to marks4wd website) almost halves the stopping distance from 100kph with a 79, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it pulls up with braided lines and slotted rotors :D

And when it comes home I'll get photos up of it from front to back.....and then it's time to get it dirty!!!!!!!

Nice! What did it cost if ya don't mind me asking? Be keen to know how it goes and how difficult it was to install? Cheers!

I think it's around $1300 for the kit? I'll ask them about the install when I pick it up. Braided lines are in already, and it comes as a kit for the hilux, so probably not a huge deal to install....although, I won't be doing it :D

You got your ute raptored yet? I gave it a wash the other day, and it's so much easier to clean!

Ok not too badly priced I guess. Nah no raptor liner yet, waiting for the boss to give me a better price. When I told him what I can get it on ebay for he nearly died. Time will tell.

That's a good price for a full kit. I wonder why it's only listed for the diesel though, I thought the V6 had the same braking hardware.
