Canopy is from Spinifex Manufacturing. http://www.spinifexmanufacturing.com.au
That's just a progress shot, but it's definitely on its way :D

The base for the canopy with powder coating (can save $1000 if you want raw alloy) is about $9500 inc fitting.....and then you start adding options (roof platform, tyre carriers, internal storage, lights...). This is where you get into trouble

They also organised the Raptor spray and flares for me. Darren that manages the store has been an absolute champion with my endless requests and changes!

Mate, she's a mean looking truck. The canopy looks mint. What size tyres you planning? 33s?

Yeah, pretty happy with it.

33's was the plan....but plans change.

Woo hoo! Canopy is complete!

The guys at http://www.spinifexmanufacturing.com.au have gone above and beyond for me and I cannot say enough good things about them. Darren coordinated the whole thing from the canopy, to finding a paint shop to prep and shoot the Raptor, liaised with another company I had replace my front seats and made numerous changes to the actual canopy on the fly, including the electrical system. Their customer service really is outstanding....and I know I was a pain in the ass!
On top of that they offer a whole lot for the price. I'll have some more shots when I get it back.

To say I cannot wait to get it back is an understatement! Of course I'll have it for a whole day before I say goodbye to it again for a while.

Should be worth it though

So.

The ute finally arrived back in town today and I went and picked it up. It's looking better than I thought
A massive thanks to Darren and the team at http://www.spinifexmanufacturing.com.au , they were brilliant the whole way through the build, and their canopies are really well thought out, totally customised, well priced and beautifully built units. Customer service was great and I can't recommend them enough. I'll get some decent shots up when I get it back(again).

While they had it, I also organised some new front seats and a centre console lid from https://www.facebook.com/proseatauto/ They have done an outstanding job. They build new seats on factory frames, so you get a great, comfortable seat that doesn't require any modification or engineering. I had them made with lumbar bladders....they are night and day from the factory seats! The leather makes the car smell like new :D
Was thinking of getting the back seat done too, but seeing as we have 2 little ones I thought the canvas I already had there would be fine :D

Had it for about a 20 min drive from the depot to the workshop where the SAS is getting done. On that note, I'll have a front diff, cv's, ARB recovery point and other bits for sale soon for those interested.

Those new seats look fantastic (the seats are one of the things I don't like in my Hilux)
What did they charge for the pair ?

Yeah, they're awesome. My wife was actually happy to sit in them :D
Seats were $1650 for the pair for the leather, plus lumbar bladders (can't remember, I think $180 each seat). They need your old frames for that price though.

That sounds fair to me
I've seen similar looking seats over here(NZ) in a Ranger, I need to track down who did them
I think the money is worth it for the better seating experience.

Those seats do look very Lexus space shuttle.
I’m interested in the recovery point, if postage doesn’t blow the price out (to WA).

I only had a 20 min drive, but they are well worth it!

The ‘slow slow build’ has gained enough momentum to become something of a juggernaut.
