Just couldn’t justify the cost of a front mount as I’m not going to be chasing big HP
And didn’t want to further restrict airflow to the radiator.

Hey Luke, but of a review on the intercooler.
Seems to keep the coolant on average 5-7 degrees cooler.
EGTs were abit harder to keep track of as they still climb up if you give it a boot full.
But what I did notice on the same drive I do all the time up a long hill. It takes a lot longer to start climbing.
Normally I down shift about half way when they get to 450 but now it doesn’t get to 450 until the top of the hill. If I had to say I reckon on average it dropped them between 50-80 degrees at the same point through drives
Also this is without the engine cover on.
So it may be marginally better with it on. I’ve never really noticed a difference between having it on and off with the old one.

Also had a look in through the throttle body the other weekend and even with the egr plate in its already building up with gunk again after 5000ks
Hence the catch can.
I’ve also ordered a manual mapper and full planking plate to completely take the egr out of play.
I will also bypass the egr with the coolant hoses

So today I completely blocked off the EGR and install the manual mapper. Very very easy to install. Took it for a drive this arvo and there is a noticeable difference down low between the full plate and the plate with a hole.
And the best part, no codes!!
I haven’t played with the fuel trim yet but I will in good time.


I also bypassed the egr cooler to stop the coolant flowing through it.

Before the manual mapper, egr bypass and intercooler. My coolant temps were between 86-90 on general driving and have seen it upto 95 they are now 80-85
Highest I have seen today was 87 and I was giving it a boot full.
It now drops back down to 80-82 very quickly as soon as you back off.

What temp is everyone else’s Luxys running at?

Running the manual mapper also but have not bypassed the coolant lines on the EGR cooler, still running EGR blank plate with 7mm hole ( must fit full blank one day soon!) but my coolant temps are around 85 under full load, What’s your Exhaust gas temps running at though?
Mines got a DP chip and 3” exhaust EGTs running at around 310 cruising up the freeway but up into low 500s pulling 1.7t of camper trailer uphill.
Great bit of kit the Ozbush mapper! Yet to play with the fuel trim though, runs like a dream set at 0 so I am hesitant to touch it.

Yeah make sure you get that full blank in!
That’s pretty good temps! I’ve got a steinbaur and 3 inch and mine used to get up to 550 pretty quick, fully loaded but no trailer.
I’ve also got 305/70r16’s with no re gear so that’s probably not helping my caus haha
But yeah my coolant used to sit around 86 and climb to 90 at the slightest hill
So everything is definitely making a difference!
I’m also abit hesitant about adjusting the trim not sure how it will go combined with the chip aswell. If you do play with it definitely let me know how it goes!

Got the blank plate in today , cheers for the pic showing the heater hose size for the coolant lines too and for motivating me to do it ha ha ha [emoji1303] bought some new hose to bypass the cooler like you have done, this though will have to wait for tomorrow as the coolant was way to hot to try and handle.
Did you loose much coolant during the bypass? Any tips?

Hey mate, no I didn’t loose much coolant at all. Besides what was in the cooler. I just let that drain.
I took both the hoses off the cooler first and let it drain then I used some vise grips to clamp the hoses so they didn’t leak.
The bottom hose going into the block was abit awkward to get the pliers in but other than that just have the new hose readily accessible when you pop the old one off, then just hold your finger over the hole to block the coolant while you grab the new hose!
Then have a beer or two to reward yourself!!

Oh I forgot the most important part!
I took the cooler inlet and outlet off first so I could put the hose clamps from them straight onto the new section of hose ready to go! Rather than trying to slide it down the whole length after you connect it!

New hoses installed now so EGR is completely bypassed, have you had any issues with leaks from the 5/8 size heater hose? Seems to be a fraction bit bigger than original size hose.

No leaks as of yet! I thought the same thing at first as well.
But I think they shrink/mould to shape a little once they heat up, I pulled one off after a drive to see if the coolant had filled it up and it was a fair bit tighter than when I first put it on. I will be keeping an eye on it for awhile though!

Yeah ok, I seen another chap had used 1/2” I went back and got some of this, managed to get it on was very tight fit. 9/16 would be perfect but its not a common size. Nothing like doing a job twice ha ha . Happy with the results now.

How’s the rear bar progressing? Any updates?

Oh really! 5/8 was the smallest they had when I went to look.
I might have a look around for some smaller stuff, better to be safe than sorry! Murphy’s law will say it will leak when your in the middle of nowhere with no spare coolant!

Yeah sort of want to be 100% sure before I start my quick lap of oz in June, This should be spot on for size, I ordered some but am not home for another couple of weeks yet to fit it.
