Little bit more work on the rear bar, just cannot seem to find any spare time lately! Just want it to be done already!

After having a look at a few rear bars afterwards, I’ve probably made the swing arm a little more heavy duty than it needs to be. But I haven’t played with steel at all before so not really sure what it’s capable of or not.

So you making a single swing away arm wheel carrier? What’s the ETA on it, be keen to see the finished product!

Certainly some nice spots you visit over there mate!

Yeah decided to make a single mainly because it was easier (lazy I know haha)
But I was also wanting to have it swing 180 degrees and lock in place then have a fold down section, basically a replica of the tail gate so I have a table aswell. It’s all undercover as the awning wraps around.
And it does get annoying if you’ve got the cooker and stuff on the tail gate and need to grab something out of the drawers.
Hopefully with a bit of luck I will get everything done this weekend if the rain holds off. Well all the mechanical stuff and the welding anyway.
Then I’ll just need to do mudflaps, lights and paint which will probably be during next week and maybe paint that weekend.
Luckily I’m cheap labour, I’d hate to be paying by the hour for this

Didn’t get as much as I would have like to on the bar over the weekend. (Welder ran out of wire)
But everything is tacced in place.
Just a few more welds. Then prep everything to be painted. And fit mud flaps/lights etc

Also made a number plate holder with some lights and mounted it on the max trax holder but forgot to take a pic

Thanks fellas!

Vmann I’ve never even really considered weight at all! Now you’ve got me curious.
I might wait until I finish off this bar and I’ll fill the tanks and get back to you.
What’s yours weighing at the moment?

Got the S%#ts with bogging and sanding the bar today so headed out to try and find somewhere to test out my new drone (got it as a replacement for my GoPro with I lost in the river last camp trip)

Drone shots are just screen shots from videos so probably not the best quality, also didn’t get a chance to play around with the iso and shutter speed.
Keen to get to some new places and get a different perspective of things !

Nice on mate, what drone did you get? I bought one not so long ago for our trip around Oz, great bits of kit! Still working out all the features on it.
Keen to see this rear bar finished though ha haa

I decided to get the DJI spark, was looking at the Mavic but comparing the functions and video/photo quality for what I’m using it for I couldn’t justify paying double for the mavic.
Maybe if I get abit more into it down the track I might sell and upgrade. But after using it on the weekend, I think it’ll do me just fine for what I want!

What did you get?
And trust me mate, me too!! I got the paint today, hopefully I can sneak away from work and throw a few coats on during the week, I’d really love to have it on for the weekend!

I got the DJI Phantom 3 advance, was a bargain price at $1k off. DJI are great drones and the quality of the footage and photos is unreal! Will now have to also learn how to edit the clips together

The rear quarter chop with the bar looks excellent mate, can't wait to see it all finished. I like the cheeky water tank where the spare was too haha.

Holy! That is a bargain!!
One of my bosses bought one of the earlier models for a big pole light audit we did and it is awesome!
Can’t wait to see some pics of your trip.
One very jealous bloke right here, really been thinking about when to do the big lap but won’t be for awhile yet..

Cheers Sam! Very handy addition, it’s a god send having running water while camping!
