I like the roof rack, looks like a good tubing choice. I'm planning a full length out of 1.5" DOM steel after I finish up interior stuff. How bad is the noise? Also, did my pics on my thread ever start working again? Cheers

There was a bit of noise, bit like an asthmatic didgeridoo. Not terrible though, guess I’m deaf enough not to bother me. Pretty sure the lights have dropped the noise by half though.

They make ‘a lot’ of light! Bit of glare spots on the two aerials, but not so bad. Probably cover them with some matt heat shrink.

The wiring before adding these 4 lights was terrible, so I consolidated into a Safety Hub 150 and relay block. Not going to win any prizes for wiring but to my eyes is much better.

Looks good! And good to hear about the road noise, I hate whistling and such from the roof on trips so that'll be a consideration when I build my rack.

I’ve been meaning to post a series of ‘how’s she holding up’.

Replaced the black duck denims couple of weeks back.
Previous set had holes in them, in th regular places. 4 years and 70k’s, I didn’t think was so bad so went for the same(ish) again. Supposed to be 4 elements grey but they look brownish to me.
Seemed a bit saggy when first installed but are moulding up nicely. Still smell like new canvas 2 weeks on. Image

Been wanting to buy me a set of canvas seat covers, but cant justify the price for a full set to import them since they arent to be found here in Scandinavia.
So I may end up going neoprene covers if i find a set that fits good to the leather seats in the Hilux

Rather than a "Blank Import" directly from the supplier, maybe you could find someone (through a forum like this) to help you out by doing a direct postal thing? I know that using Australia post myself is much cheaper than if I allow a supplier to use their own freight mob.
Just a thought.

I have thought about it actually, and may ask a mate of mine if he would do that for me ;) :D

So at 306k’s it’s time for new tyres.
That makes 66k’s out of these, reckon not too bad.

yikes, just realised how long since I've updated here, hope you are all well.
Currently on a big lap, left home (WA) 1 Feb, back to work 1 October. Writing this near Jervis Bay, NSW.
Replaced suspension with Lovells GVM upgrade before we left, tipping the scales at 3.2T (legal 3.3) plus towing tinny with axle weight 0.6T.
Replaced the radiator in Esperance ($1200) - we left home on 43C day and the AC cut out.
New gearbox at Ceduna ($6k) - coming across the Nullarbor we lost 3rd & 4th gear, drove from Eucla to Ceduna by shifting from 2nd to 5th.

Needs the EGR cooler replaced, it's noisy and making a mess under the bonnet, quote $2200.
Due a new set tyres now too - I knew this cost was coming but didn't expect all the others, turning into an expensive trip.

Old girl has 306k's on her now and is feeling a bit tired / underpowered up the hills from Vic to NSW, and that Kings Rd toward Canberra...
Have been making a few YT vids along the way, mix of on and off road, bit of underwater stuff and drone too.

Just over 300thousand. Hope you did the T-Belt or that'll be extra pennies you don't want as well.
