Thanks I'll have a sus

Been putting this off since I bought the ute, it's EGR clean day!

Thought I'd get it over and done with since the weather forecast wasn't looking great earlier in the week, turns out it's a perfect day outside. Oh well, needs to be done.

Looks much better, cleaned the MAP and MAF while I was there too.



Leaves a hell of a mess though.

Finally got some decent tyres, Hankook Dynapro MT in 265/75R16 on some 16x8 +20, barely fits with the standard bumper, but my bullbar still isn't ready. Don't think I mentioned it at the time, but I got a set of Phat Bar sliders as well, cannot speak highly enough of the guys there.





Also got some littel eBay LEDs fitted for some extra reverse lights, looking forward to giving them a test once it gets dark.

Sorry about the photo quality, I seem to be always working on the ute at night in the dark so progress shots never come out great.

Kenwood DNR935WBT mate. It's good, just wish it had navigation inbuilt, although you can pair your phone to your stereo and it mirrors your phone screen on your stereo, so you can use Google maps etc.

Hard to say, but there is a bit of flex in the bonnet, so it may even twist it a little over time. Personally I wouldn't, especially as they come in pairs anyway.

poke out about 30mm rear and 35mm front. I'll have to do something about it soon, although I'd like to wait until I've got the bullbar on first.

Finally got my bullbar after a 6.5 month wait. Have had a Runva 11xp sitting on the floor waiting for a few months so I got that straight in the bar and got it on the ute.





Got the winch all wired up, it came with a battery isolator so I pulled out the Baileys fuel filter bracket, drilled a couple of holes and mounted it on there. This side of the engine bay is definitely getting full!



Now I just need to wire in the bullbar indicators, mount and wire up the spot lights and fog lights, get the UHF antenna on the bullbar and connected and then wire up the in-dash winch controls, piece of piss!

That bar looks sick. Do you have any front/side pics of it?

Here's a couple of shots of the ute when I've been out and about, hasn't been much off road stuff lately, but a couple of good trips away.

Finished the bar "install" yesterday. It's been annoying me how the white corners poke out from under the bullbar, so I masked it all up and hit it with some rattle-can black.







I know I haven't painted much, but it's enough to hide it at most angles.

Now I just need to lift the front back up again, the bar, winch and second battery has dropped the front end by 35mm on the drivers side and 38mm on the passenger side.

Put the ARB canopy vent in this morning, should hopefully keep dust to a minimum ready for when I put the draws and fridge in the back. As much as we all joke about the ARB tax, it's nice to install something with such good instructions and no screwing around.

Haven't put anything up for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. Got a pretty big package from Drift recently. I can honestly say I've never seen anything packaged so well, the entire draw set up was encased in it's own wooden box screwed together with corners made out of ply and thin sheeting making up the box sitting on the pallet before being entirely wrapped in plastic. I wish I took a photo before I pulled it all apart!



I customised the plan a fair bit, got the slide changed to full length so it holds the fridge and a 2 burner gas stove, really happy with how it's turned out.

Sat everything in for a test fit once the drawers were bolted in.





Don't think that's going to slide around far.



Cut some Carling style switches, a couple of Narva sockets and an eBay voltmeter into one of the side panels, the wiring isn't the neatest I've ever done, but it's all contained behind the panel where no one can see it.





Ran a 4m strip of LED lights around the top of the canopy, throws out more than enough light. I've also wired up one of the Supacentre LED light strips which plugs in and then hooks onto the gazebo frame.



Above the fridge box is a little bit of a dead space that's difficult to access, so I've fitted a couple of Bunnings drawers which can be accessed from the side window to use as much of it as I can, there's enough room for a third too, but I'll have to turn it so it opens rearwards.



Very happy overall. Only thing I got wrong is that I didn't consider that the whole fridge slide was carpeted, which isn't great to operate a gas stove on, tossing up either getting a wooden block made in the same laminate as the pull out table, or just getting a bit of stainless folded up to sit on top of the carpeted slide.

If anyone's considering drawers, I can't recommend Drifta enough.
