Nice one man! Have they re-geared it for them wheels? 37s r cool but would be much cooler with some more lift.

Holy smokes that's cool... I semi agree about lift... but that thing is as high as you'll ever need it...

Do you find it's lost all its power though? I mean people are noticing losses even going to 32"

It's geared down yes, and i dont think lifting it more would do that much.. Getting some swaybar disconectors to gain some flex is something im interested in doing tho..

There is a lot of resistance in the tires, and they are heavy as f***, so so there is some power loss, not to much :)

And the wheels have never touched or scrubbed anywhere! Not on full flex either! :D

I read somewhere that the Arctic truck guys actually cut all the front suspension off and move it forward a bit to gain clearance. Could be wrong tho. I bet she'll scrub if ya do ya swaybar tho!

As Luke says, that is correct.

Great to see a fellow Norwegian on the forum! Welcome :D

To update this forum further with info i translated the pdf from actrictruck for you guys :)

37 inch mod
When a Hilux is rebuilt with 37 '' wheels, the suspension is raised by 40 mm front and rear, and the body is raised 20mm from the frame. In connection with body-lift there are made a number of modifications. It also carried out extensive work to the body that the wheels should run freely in all situations. Fender flares are mounted to cover the wide wheels and to give the car a powerful look.

38 inch mod
Toyota Hilux AT38 is the vehicle that the BBC program Top Gear used to drive to the magnetic North Pole in 2007. This alone testifies to the raw rebuilding here we have taken forward. Hilux is turned into some of the best ever made within drivable vehicle. AT38 is small enough to be agile, and easy enough to be a real star on snow. While it dominates the terrain. When a Hilux is rebuilt with 38 "wheels, the front suspension is moved down and forward to make room for the large wheels, it is also fitted with new dampers on the rear. Fender flares are mounted and covers 38 "wheels and ensures that this is a car that turns heads.

Could also add for 33" and 35" but dont wanna fill up the his thread :P

That about what's worth knowing.. I know they have a more detailed list as well, but it's not necessary to know!

I've seen your Lux here on the forum, and I would say yours would look really nice after a trip to Arctic Trucks ;)

Where in Norway do you live? I think your lux would make a nice breakfast for my Warn! 8-)
Haha, just kidding

So, I kinda want to put some kind of snorkel on this thing, together with some diff breathers, just so I may go swiming with it some day.. But im not sure if a snorkel would look wierd on it?

And will i ever need it?

Some pics to from this weekends 1000km's drive :D
It has done 153000km's btw.. so there is now time for a timing belt change.. Since it's a complicated D4D, I will do this myself

Ok, so this weekend i will be starting on making a camper canoppy in the trunk! Maybe not the bigest one out there, but probably nice for overlanding and trail side camping.

When i bougth the car i allso got a Kingtop with it, and since its a x-cab, the trunk is 180cm in length. Witch hopefully is enough for me

I think it looks bad, but hey, sleeping like a king in a 150cm bed on road trips and shit? F*ck yeah!

Image

Allso thinking about getting a safari snorkel and rock protector on the hood :D
