2012 Xcab Build - Need assistance

Postby reetzy on Sun, 03 Apr 2016 8:11 +0000

Hey all. Great website been reading too much :D Just purchased a 2012 SR Xcab and looking for a few pointers.

Currently has 225/75 16 steel rims fitted to it and want to get some Mickey Thompson classic locks in 16 x 8 but not sure on what offset? What is the offset of the steel rims fitted? Thinking of BFG A/T 265/75 tyres, thoughts?

Going to get the rekon suspension and bar most likely, stay tuned :D

Get some +15 or 20 and ya 265s then if ya tyre (depends on what ya buy) hangs out too much for ya thro some flares on it. Will have a much nicer stance and ya wont have any dramas with tyres witting upper control arms. I got 0 offset from the start because I had plans to run 33s from the start.

Thanks Toyzx. 265 (32" ?) will be the biggest i will go for. BFG A/T KO2 will be the tyres.

Gecko can custom make any offset you want in steel wheels
I order 17x10 -44 bead lock for just under 200 each
A lot of people run fj offset wheel p10-p15, but may not suit your tyre width and height depending on witch way you go

As stated before wheels and tyres last
Idd fit 17's as it allows the option to brake upgrade down the track
as for lift that will come down to how har you want to wheel off road with what size tyre
Some people get away with 3" lift and some cutting to run 33's other require body lift and 3" suspenshion to wheel the same tyre

I run 33's and have 12" travel front and rear with 5" lift in a gen5 work ok for what I do but wish I had more, hence bigger wheels for bigger tyres, but I'll require massive guard chops and axel move to fit
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................
