The cheap Hella lights that came with the car broke on a recent trip. All the excuse I needed to upgrade to Lightforce Genesis LED driving lights.Image

Cheers mate. I haven't really pushed it but I'd say 1100-1200 km. No issues offroad as of yet!

I managed 1250km out of my 2012, which i though was quite acceptable.

The 'lux has been at the mechanic this week getting the EGR and intake manifold cleaned. After approx 90,000 km the intake was apparently quite gummed up and required extra time in the hot tank. For this reason alone I think it was worthwhile but I've also noticed a slight improvement in throttle response.

While it was there, they installed a secondary fuel filter. I went with the Bailey's Diesel Group kit: https://www.baileysdiesel.com/shop/filt ... hilux-1kd/ They had a special on before Christmas so got it for $220. Apparently an incorrect hose was supplied so just be wary of that if you purchase the same.

Hey Marsh, Nice build!
I noticed that your 2nd battery has been installed in the same location and orientation as mine. Someone pointed out to me last week that in the event of a big front end smash, there is a chance that the positive terminal can make contact with the body and potential turn the whole body live. I am no electrician however i'm trying to source some rubber and place it on the fire wall to prevent this from being a possibility.

I am unsure of the likely hood of this happening but I thought for the couple of dollars it will cost me it is a precaution I will invest in.

Keep the build goin mate! It's looking good!

Haven't posted in this thread for a long time!

I've picked up parts for a brake upgrade when the Hilux goes in for the 100,000km service next week:

- DBA T3 slotted rotors
- Bendix 4WD pads
- Safebrake braided linesImage

I had some forgotten cabin LEDs from Newpro-tech sitting in the drawer. Finally installed them and it makes such a difference! Did the map lights and dome light.

The dome light LED required a small amount of filing to fit, but otherwise a easy and cheap mod.

Yeah, pedal feels firmer and she pulls up a bit harder.
