Can't wait either! will be doing it this weekend!

Not sure how to mount them on...?
Should i drill new holes where the grooves are and on the car to fasten them for better support?

All depends how well they fit. I've fitted the cut snake version and they were terrible, they came with 50mm allen head self tappers for screwing them to the guard.

Got the front on!
Had to use a heater to be able to re-form the fiberglass, looks OK i think :)

Here is how i mounted them in place

Jungle Fender Flares are now on the car! Will update tomorrow with pictures in daylight :)

Im not 100% satisfied as there are some places there are gaps, especially on the rear since they touch the cabin. Will re-do them when its starting to get warmer here in Norway.

The difficulty of the install i would rate 6 out of 10 making 10 the hardest, it was a slight issue since the fitment wasnt a 100%, but i managed to heat them up slightly to make the softer and form them to the shape of the body.

Far out man! They look like a worse fit than the cut snake ones! Especially on the rear! You sure they have sent you the rite ones?

Pretty sure Luke...
They only have one set to choose from... but i think they are made from an X-cab tub and not a D-cab, so that might be why they are like that.

But i think the main issue is the lip that goes under in to the wheel arch, they are very "bended" inwards, ending up having to bend then back therfor getting the wrong fitment...

Im thinking that i will cut off the lip to release tention and re-do them so they are closer to the original mounting holes :)

Arnes 2010 Lux

Postby Caleebra on Thu, 30 Mar 2017 2:36 +0000

Been talking with Jungle Fender Flares the past few days on how to solve the fit of the flares.
They have been really helpful with information on how to proceed.

As Luke and I agreed on, they are in fact made from the 2door models of the Hilux.
But for those that order them for the 4 doors have modded them to fit.

Here is a picture that i got from them on how to have the rear flares fit better on the tray:
ImageImage

For the lip it self that fits inside the wheel-well, they say it should take shape once its bolted in place.
But, Fiberglass is to stiff to handle once cured, heating it up some should make it more flexible to bend and take shape.(Do not heat to much as it will melt the fiberglass!)

For the final adjustments of the fitment, having elongated holes where you bolt it in place in the original holes will help a lot when pushing it firmly in place and tightening the screws.
(This is something I did not think of when installing them, so i will reverse the install of the rear flares and cut away as they described, will have to wait till the weather gets better and warmer before attempting this).

I might also re-do the lip that fits under the wheel-well as i am not satisfy on how they fit right now.
Will update you when the time comes :)
